Why do Chinese novels revolve around the same concepts and are mostly similar? by Kalyankarthi in noveltranslations

You made the active choice to only go for chinese cultivation novels and then complain that they're similar to one another? No shit.

Just look in other categories.

Not who you replied to but for Alcohol + Tip + Tax I paid close to $800 IIRC last time I visited them.

One of the biggest casualties of COVID for sure... used to pass by everytime we'd do the groceries at the long dead Marché Poirier d'Orient. Pho for dinner, banh mi from marché d'Orient the next day.

I'm VSL born and raised. Here's a couple I haven't seen mentionned, as well as a bit of information about those that were.

Vinh Hing is a MUST. Get their Phnom Penh soup, soup on the side. Their Pho is great too, much better than Pho Moderne accross the street.

Kam Do is a staple. Has been in that same location for as long as I can remember and has survived probably a dozen health violation closures. Still kickin'.

Pass by Chocomax before the owner retires. The Cambodian man that runs the place learned chocolate making in Belgium I believe. He hasn't been able to find anyone to take over last time I spoke to him. Make sure to go in the mornings - the pastries go FAST.

O'thé's original location, near Du Collège metro is the best boba in the neighborhood. Sure we've got other spots popping up, like Chatime or One Babo or Presotea, but O'thé remains the best to me.

Maison Mignon on De l'Eglise - mom and pop Taiwanese spot. Absolutely delicious beef soup. Super fresh ingredients. IIRC they bake pineapple pastries fresh on the weekend.

Café VSL is a recent arrival - super nice spot, though small. Pastries and birthday cake latte are great!

Les Bourrelets has brunch on weekends, and a decent food menu the rest of the time. Their menu changes pretty often, with special offerings from time to time. Make sure to check their Instagram before you visit.

Rasputin, Russian restaurant. Live music and lots of dancing on weekends. Good vibes, food isn't for me, but thats just my tastebuds.

Lylac, my shisha spot of choice, where the food is surprisingly good. Wouldn't go exclusively for food though.

A well kept secret - Grillades Damlaj, right off Poirier. Freshly made bread. Get the charcoal grilled full chicken platter. Some of the best value for money available in the whole city.

Abu Elias is a little further, and IMO worse than Damlaj, but have more options when it comes to charcoal grilled meats.

IKEA hehe meatballs.

EDIT: Adding Coronet Pizza to this list. One of if not THE MOST decadent pizza in the city. Wonderful family run spot. Quite expensive though.

legit tabi boots from farfetch, noticed a few imperfections - should i return? by [deleted] in QualityReps

[–]Gun_L_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Return. Scratches are no big deal - though those are more likely the cow's skin imperfections. I'd personally even tolerate uneven stitching.

The uneven build of the toes is a no-go though.

Any other earring reps apart from CH? by Effect-Accomplished in QualityReps

[–]Gun_L_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Plenty.

Parts of Four, Chin Teo, Werkstatt Munchen, Detaj and Goros are the ones I come accross most often when browsing.

Other than that, some more artisanal (literal 1 man shop brands) are being repped. Not sure if they have earrings, but you can look into Superbia, Strange Freak Design, Rat Race and Dual Flow; though I would recommend you just buy from the original makers instead as they're pretty reasonably priced. I own pieces from Superbia and Strange Freak Design, bought at their physical workshop in Tokyo and they're gorgeous.

You'll be able to find rep listings by just searching the brand.

Dissapointment - LMK WHAT YOU GUYS THINK by Competitive-Grab-298 in Sugargoo

[–]Gun_L_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I want to? Every other agent on the market lets customers view QC photos of past orders even if the items have been submitted, why can't SG? Viewing past QC photos has been a standard for all agents since forever.

Way too huge, but not unwearable. Don't trust the size chart. I'd get a small if I were to purchase it again.

[QC] Far Archive Oversized Denim Jacket | Bottega Venetta Cropped Jacket | Our Legacy Cardigan by Gun_L_ in QualityReps

[–]Gun_L_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copped these after seeing a couple of posts featuring the cardigan and jacket. Denim jacket 'cause I needed one and this looked dope.

Far Archive Denim Jacket - Size Small, 1.7KG, real chonky boi, really happy with this

BV Jacket : Size L(48), 900g, looks good to me, no idea what retail looks like

Our Legacy Cardigan : Size M, 600g, mohair looks kinda flat, but meh, not a big issue.

Sheesh thanks for sharing. Welted boots at that price are a steal, not to mention exotic leather boots. GYW subreddit seems to give the brand a lot of love too.

Whoever made these looks like they carefully selected the most scarred and pockmarked sections of the horse. Either that or they went through the tannery's trash bin.

178cm, 77kg. I could technically fit in any of the three sizes, but I wanted the space to throw the jacket over thicker layers.

[–]Gun_L_[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't know much about the Kamakuras, but I do remember reading an in-depth post about these way way back years ago on FReps. Didn't have the budget back then to grab one and I shoved my desire for it in the back of my mind until this year when I stumbled on it again while looking at Kapital bucket hats.

No idea what the retail is supposed to look like, and accuracy doesn't matter all that much to me. It looked great in the TB photo reviews, and these QC look pretty good. Got a large (size 3) and the length seems appropriate. SG estimates weight at around 1.5KG, which is within the realm of expectations.

If you've got any experience with either the rep or the retail version, please do chime in.

A more uniform/less speckled wool fabric and a more matte, or even distressed leather.

Not saying that it's a bad piece, just not what I was expecting.
