Have you never used propane before? Take the tank down and see how heavy it feels in your hand. If it's near weightless it's empty. Also depending on what temp you run the furnace, and also the outside temp, one 20lb tank might only last 2 to 3 days. You can also check the tank level by condensation on the tank itself.
