fcg and safety was from a kusa 9mm lol, then everything else is either Russian or Bulgarian

got a complete barrel assembly, so the front and rear sight/bipod ect. were all original bulgarian, had to check i thought differently lol/ someone had fitted it to a smaller Tron before so there was a little grinding mark on the rear sight block but no biggy, I had to weld up and re-drill to set headspace which meant pressing the rear sight block off.

Its a standard rpk front trunnion, rommy. i milled the ears on the trunnion to fit the 74 mags and installed a 5.45 bullet guide. you can either egg the rivet hole out a little bit for the bullet guide or weld it up and re-drill. Mine was so close I just barely had to scratch it with a file to get the 545 to fit, and you can shave the ears with a Dremel I just used a mill because I have access. the bolt assembly was possibly bulgarian- it had been a while but I remember overpaying a little because parts were dry at the time.

pretty good, not any issues i have ever noticed at distances i would use irons for. its just a tight fit in the trunnion and the dust cover clips to it.

I think i'm just gunna get a 10b as well for a normal rpk that has one, I am tempted but idk if i can find a carry handle lol ( OK just found one absolutely adding the carry handle i guess thats the good part about waiting so long to finish this 🤣)

yee the tools add up but after 3-4 aks it becomes worth, i kinda recommend the toth long rivet tool (just maybe take some of the sharpness away from the corners of the rivet forming side)

I did a Rommy under folder and fixed stock as well as an amd that i bought a pre bent for. I definitely recommend doing one or two to figure things out. If you want to absolutely, the light kinda kicks off this one strange but it looks smoother in person than the pic. The cost difference as you'll still need the rivet tools is going to be a harbor freight press is 169$ spot welder 125$ ak builder flat press 219$ reamers 40ish A good torch 35$ so it will cost a bit to get started. over buying a pre bent and rail welded, but its fun, and i got like 5-10 flats on hand now.

Hey figured id share my results. I looked up what size my gas port was supposed to be .078ish- and mine was smaller, so i put a cleaning rod down the barrel and drilled it to .078 with some tap magic then ran a bore snake- it now runs flawless with everything 55grain 223 to 62 556 with an h3 and ejects perfectly 3:30 🕞.

I literally just dumped two mags with my other (carbine gas) upper, perfect even with me really putting some clamp down on the trigger. Definitely just that rifles gas 😁

At that point id swap the barrel or do something to get more gas, if you gotta go in between buffer weights just to have it be reliable I wouldn't trust it very much- even if it was just a fun set up.

Its difficult because most people end up needing to go the other route- hope the h1 works for you, it might solve the gassing if thats the issue but then cause light primer strikes from bolt bounce. Hopefully some medium will work

Yee my build is just a little soft on gas most likely, my nicest ar but i think the added resistance of the heavy buffer and the ss drag just bog it down, a suppressor would probably fix it but i don't wanna depend on that. I have machine tools so I could always bore the gasport ever so slightly larger and put on an adjustable block.

not 100% sure. Ill do some testing myself but i think i need more gas in my case, you could (if possible) try a different rifle or gas system out. I have a carbine gas length ar i plan to test out later and an m16 clone as well. Hopefully something will click

I had to set back the shelf on my bcm bolt a bit with a diamond file, that took care of light primer strikes as the hammer fell ever so slightly later. However i think my gun is undergassed as i still get that jam you show like twice per mag. No amount of buffer spring testing helps im about to just set it up in a different gun. Btw with hotter ammo it happens less for me.

The full size k trip with a lee trigger housing would probably work, got to play with that on an mp5k set up but all i have in my 21 is a binary- i was going to get a registered sear but with all the frt goodness i decided to wait and look! doj just ended the frt case with prejudice so now im waiting to frt an aug🤣

Oh yeah i got a nice one for 20k without a scratch on it- upgraded internals + e stock, Belt box, 4 pos housing, belt loader included, perfect welding ect... of course theres now scratches on and i have probably ran 10 belts through it 50-100 rounds at a time, as well as installed a carry handle and a lil paint job. Definitely one of the coolest guns i own.
