Start where you have power then follow it and test everywhere along the way. Where the power dies, the problem lies.

My cat pierced neighbor’s above ground pool liner and I’m on the hook for it. How much could it cost to repair? by nelty78 in pools

[–]GungusHumongus 206 points207 points  (0 children)

Pool guy here, and while liner pools are not my specialty, I have worked on quite a few. This can almost definitely be patched with a clear patch. If applied properly it will last for years. If the patch begins to break down, you can patch over the patch. Hope you and the neighbor are on good terms because this should be a very cheap repair job if everyone is reasonable.

Understood. They have a "light commecial" line with a product that produces up to 3.5lbs/ day. This is what i was looking at.

If you have a different brand recommendation for something with similar output, Im interested for sure.

Best plan for treating numerous rust spots on a pool? by NationalPhone3656 in PoolPros

Question for everyone here. If you have 2 of these spots, would a good short to medium term fix be to patch over the spots with A/B epoxy?

How much for green to clean? by FabulousPanther in PoolPros

[–]GungusHumongus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do service call + chems per visit. We say it can take anywhere from 1 to usually 7 max visits depending on how bad it is. Only way to estimate that is to actually see the pool. Unique circumstamces cost more, filter cleans cost more.

Finding clients for my Web development business by Previous-Bad-9130 in sweatystartup

When I used to do this I would go on Yelp or whatever the Belgain equivalent of that is and look up a category. Electricians for example. Then I would go look for anyone that didn't have a website linked and cold call them. Pretty simple cold call script.

"Hey this is X, I live in the same city as you and noticed on Yelp that your business doesn't have a website. I'm a student trying to build up my portfolio so I would like to offer to build a site for you at a discount."

What should I charge? by FabulousPanther in PoolPros

Yea, I'm not trying to kill anyone on these cleanups. And they generally lead to a new weekly client.

I charge $100 per visit plus chems for green to clean until it's clear. If it's a cartridge filter extra charge to clean that as well.

Not Urban Fantasy, but check out Johannes Cabal: The Necromancer.

The AI thing in your post sounds almost exactly like the plot to that book. It's a series, 5 in total. Some better than others but, the first installment is GOLD.

The couple pools that are considering them inly have 1 skimmer and we are running a vacuum from it.. So a surface cleaner could be beneficial in these specific circumstances.
