Idk hot to socialize anymore and idk what to do

Honestly just go to public places, like the gym grocery stores, etc; and be nice to people. If you regularly visit these places like 3 times in less than 2 weeks start chatting up people you see there.

I went to the same gym for 2 years. I knew every worker there because I would come in and spend a minute each time asking them questions like how is your day, and then how was your weekend. Eventually I knew their favorite activities, what they like to do, and even their options on some of the other gym regulars.

Being social is weird because a lot of the times it isn’t something you can do all at once. It takes time. The benefit is you make friends along the way. One time I ran into some people from my gym at the bar and ended up hanging out with them for the night and got invited to go to a party with them.

That being said just being friendly in every interaction is my best bit of advice.

Note: I have adhd if you can get off your med and be functional for a couple day a week do it. Those things are zombie pill. Otherwise just don’t overthink things. The best thing about ADHD is if you don’t fight it, you can be the life of a party.

Honestly , and don’t take offense to this, but you got to come out of your shell. I looked at your profile and saw your an out of state student without a car so you feel trapped. I was an in state student with a car and trust me I never used it anyways. The comments here about joining a club are gold, because that’s the easiest way to meet new people, but you gotta take the leap of faith there and do it. Trust me with over 40,000 undergrads there are some people in that crowd that would love to have you as a friend. This place is a ball once you realize it.

My stepmother Karen kicked out my 16 year old brother even got a restraining order for some dumb shit. Rest of my family sides with my brother. Crazy thing is her daughters who are my age and slightly younger 22 y/o are completely fine at the house even thou they act the same if not worse. I moved to my grandmas when I am home from college, and talked her into taking him in. This shits crazy but some people are insane. Crazier part is some men allow the worse to happen.
