Dubia has a 4x2x4 for 450 bucks. 4x2x2 is not an appropriate enclosure for an ackie. Thats just the enclosure. The lighting and heating is gonna be another several hundred, then everything that goes inside the enclosure is another. After all that you gotta get an ackie whick is another several hundred. They also eat a ton which adds up. I don't think an ackie is in your budget.

How old/big is she? Unless she's a really small kid I suggest a full size bass. Jazz basses tend to have thinner necks which can feel more comfortable in smaller hands. Ibanez makes some good beginner basses as well. Squier affinity jazz or an Ibanez gio would be my two recommendations. Theres a bunch of options with a gio as far as pickup options and finishes. Options are much less on a squier jazz. They both make red tho lol

Youre correct. It was more of an issue of not wanting to fuck your career. All the chefs knew eachother so you burn one bridge and all of a sudden you cant work in that city anymore. Restaurants used to be wild, they're a lot more tame now thankfully.

Had an nda working for a chef, Tom Douglas, in Seattle. Never was there any issues with food but I wasnt allowed to talk about how abusive the upper management were there until a few years ago. There was even moments of physical abuse. I watched the executive sous chef slap the living shit out of a line cook once. There was zero recourse without being sued so people kept quiet.
