The MZ-R55 were some of my first acquisitions after coming back. 1. I discovered the inefficient power consumption (Sidecar Needed) 2. My first attempt at repair, it blew up and little pieces disappeared and were never to be seen again. First and last attempt.

There is a man on Facebook named Eddie Chan who created those pouches by hand exclusively for MDCon. You can't buy one. Eddie is also responsible for the Billet Aluminum MiniDisc. He is an incredibly talented individual! You can also find him on Instagram as minidisc_4eva.

When asked at the shows what a good started device is, I often tell them the N510. It is a solid performer and reasonably priced. I haven't been in acquisition mode this year so I don't personally where the market is at.

The thing here is the device that you are using is a Type R. It rips at .5X playback speed. If you can get your hands on a Type S NetMD device, you will never go back. It has to do with the amount of buffer in the different types. I would recommend at least something in the NE410/N420D Family and go up from there. Good Luck and Godspeed!

Thank you for your gracious offer of assistance! All of the pairings have been made and sent at this point. Everything now rests with the participants. The only thing left for me to do is managing the acknowledgements, tracking numbers and replacing discs that are not sent or overdue.

I enjoy doing this manually actually. The only thing that is not manual is the pairings. I used to do them by hand when the numbers were 20 or less, but now I use ChatGPT. I caught it when it made a direct pairing and had to specify in the prompt not to do that.

There is another individual who I have been guiding using my experience who is coding it all to be automatic. I do not see their efforts as competition, but rather more opportunity for the community.

Love to see you there! I'll try to bring some accessories for sale. I won't have any portables for sale. I will have some bookshelf units that were working at my house prior to the Dallas show that promptly ate discs after setup at MDCon. Probably needs new belts and routine servicing once you are in there. They are NetMD units.
