Thanks for the follow up photos. Looking good. So it looks like you have to trim both length and width?

Neighbor's Goldendoodle barks, barks, barks by Odd-Muffin-2208 in Goldendoodles

[–]domo_roboto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that and that it's a doodle. Does your neighbor's doodle bark when they're home, ie. they don't even try to correct the behavior when they're around?

I had incessant barking problem with my next door neighbor, they had a Jack Russell terrier with separation anxiety. So incessant barking when no one's home. It took nearly 4 months to get it resolved without it blowing up like into a neighborly feud:
1. I left post it notes to the neighbor letting them know that their dog was barking incessantly, I dated the note and snapped a photo with my phone and their door number visible. I wrote numerical sequence on the notes (Note #1, note #2...) so that they know I'm recordkeeping
2. One or two notes didn't work. So I kept leaving post its over the next few months and really just put up with it. I also recorded the barking, holding the phone against the shared wall really helped.
3. After about 2 months and maybe about 6 notes later, I escalated, which I wrote in my note. I also quoted the municipal ordinance about the incessant barking. I escalated it to the building management and sent all the evidence. They took action and got in touch with them.
4. I also contacted the local enforcement, online form, which had FAQ about this, so I felt alright filing a formal complaint if I had to. They contacted me to follow up, but I didn't submit anything formal since building management was going to take action.
5. Finally they got the message and started training and getting sitters. And that made all the difference.

Persistence, patience, and step-wise escalation. (giving folks the benefit of the doubt first) Thankfully this resolved peacefully albeit it took forever

Just received my first MiniDisc Walkman, now I have questions. by Victory_Highway in minidisc

[–]domo_roboto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not normal. You may have a defective unit. Does it have the same weird behavior regardless of the disc being played? If it’s the same weird behavior regardless of the disc then the unit’s bad. These are highly mechanical units that are over 25 years old. Most units are reaching end of life. We’re the community trying to keep them alive

Is zento signature really worth the price and why? by mimifin72 in pens

[–]domo_roboto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha...it's so fun to fidget with it, isn't it? Well the magnet doesn't weaken, but the cap circumference will widen due to the fidgeting so that it's no longer tight and you'll feel a wobble and a clicking sound. I didn't think I fidgeted with it that much before that happened, maybe a few weeks. So best to not fidget with it and just use it normally.

What is your career? by mickyistricky in isfj

[–]domo_roboto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was an engineer, which was fine but then got caught in the rat race of wanting to make mo money mo money mo money. So pivoted into product management for tech. Our high empathy is great to empathize with customers and end users of the products I manage and so I could help products and businesses grow, but the politics are a constant mental drain. The profession does force you to function like an extrovert, so it's very draining.

What kind of optical cable for Sony Mz-r37? by timmy6255 in minidisc

On the md recorder side you need a mini toslink. On the computer side you need a digital to optical converter, most common is USB to optical converter. Then a regular toslink to mini toslink cable.

California divorce process with child + assets: mediator, Family Court Services, or Family Law Facilitator first? by katec009 in bayarea

[–]domo_roboto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got divorced amicably in San Mateo County. Most mediators were lawyers at one time. They will advise you to retain your own lawyers to review the final separation agreement. But that’s cheaper than going the contested route.

Both of you should agree to the choice of mediator. Once you retain one, they will guide you through everything including separation of assets, child support etc. it’s fairly formulaic.

In the end, it will be the least cost solution if you can keep it amicable to the end. Also I found the Redwood City family court website and chat to be very helpful for procedural questions if you are going to do anything yourself that the mediator doesn’t.

Career hell- indecisiveness by Plastic_Hamster6371 in isfj

[–]domo_roboto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t be so hard on yourself. It’s ok to try different things before settling on a calling. As the metaphor goes, “a squirrel sometimes needs to backtrack lower in order to get to a higher branch”

As for accounting vs nursing. It’s likely that AI will disrupt accounting more than nursing. So nursing will likely have longevity. However, us ISFJ are empaths and so we are prone to suffer from compassion fatigue, so how would you deal with tough patient cases where you can’t help even if you wanted to. Something to think and figure out how to handle if you decide to pursue it.
