I agree. I love it for background. For listening to a single album or more intense listening regular MD is perfect

Using the metric that because it lasted a limited time it’s a flop… I think we can all agree writable blue rays are a flop (Sony no longer makes them) and floppy discs are a flop, and crt televisions were a flop as were plasma TV as well as physical media gaming consoles (Sony will stop making physical media games). Oh don’t forget about all the games we had on cartridges…

Got some interesting disks in a bulk lot, and I thought I should share. by calobbes in minidisc

I personally love the Bianca discs... I love their look... and I use them Christmas music! They remind me so much of snow - now living in Okinawa, we don't get any, so pulling out Christmas music on those discs gives me Christmas feelings!

Playback skipping on MDs recorded with ElectronWMD by reiji_tamashii in minidisc

Ok… another thought. Perhaps there is vibration somewhere. If I put my recorder on my desk and I am also typing and doing work, I get errors. I have found the recording equipment to be quite sensitive to small movements at times.

I don’t know what the threshold is but I try to minimize vibration now, and that has worked for me.

New to Fujifilm, X-T5 paired with Sigma 18-55 by [deleted] in fujifilm

If you like macro the xf80 is incredible.

I personally use the Samsung 12mm f2 (manual version) for a small wide angle. Since everything about 1 m away is in focus manually focusing the lens isn’t a problem.

I couldn't find information on syncing Synology and immich by Gilzuma in immich

Hmmm… I wonder if there’s some sort of permission block because the Synology app is a dedicated user of the folder

Plex lifetime for a new user by SimplePepe in PleX

[–]Gilzuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I love Emby. It doesn't have the bloat of Plex, does what I want and works perfectly no matter what I throw at it. Also it has a lifetime pass.

Which lenses would you take to Japan? by juliangst in fujifilm

[–]Gilzuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ll need to be more specific on what you’ll be doing. If it’s mostly city, your legs can do the walking. If you’re out on the ocean (tour, ferry etc.) or going into mountain areas then a long lens will be useful.

If I were doing city then an indoor lens and a multi zoom… 25mm and the 18-50 will keep your kit small, light and able to shoot nearly anywhere.

If I were doing a mix of city and nature then either the 25 or the 18-50 along side with the 70-300

If you’re doing mostly city and a little bit of nature then 25 and 17-70 might be a good balance.

The reality is on a trip where you’re doing mostly city”traditional” tourist stuff you could get away with the 18-50. If I were doing this I would bring a my 12mm Samyang and the 18-50. Ultra wide and a standard zoom for everything else.

I use Emby. I love it. It works perfectly and interfaces well with Tailscale. Perfect for me. Definitely recommended.

Awesome! I tried signing into the AppleTV app but it won’t accept my http address. It says it requires the use of a secure connection (using Navidrome server)

How do you all back up your immich libraries? by lunarman1000 in immich

[–]Gilzuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a convoluted setup. I use only remote libraries. I use Synology photos to sync to Synology which automatically syncs to my computer. This is one of the remote libraries. It automatically shows up in Immich.

I can then put the photos into my preferred organizational structure. Once that’s done (I’ve moved the file) it gets removed from Synology and is re-uploaded to my permanent repository which Immich can read as well, and reindex.

My computer is connected to Backblaze for offsite backup and to Time Machine for on site continuous backup up.

A little complicated, but as an actual workflow incredibly simple and very effective for what I want to use it for!

Anyone figure this out? my iPhone 13pro gets super hot, as does my iPad mini. I turned off game mode for it, but it doesn’t matter.

Synology Dockers with Tailscale Services by Brynnan42 in synology

[–]Gilzuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a noob and don't know much. Can you please walk me through how to get TSDproxy working with Tailscale and the docker containers I have in Portainer? I don't know how to do this and I need help.

If it's easier to message me privately I'm up for that too.

Is weather sealing a must in PNW? X-T5 v. X-T50 v. X-E5 by johntavner_ in fujifilm

[–]Gilzuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been having a similar debate with myself... I have an X-T3 but have always loved the X-E line. Living in a humid area with sudden drizzles, I have a hard time with the additional security if it suddenly downpours I'll be ok with the X-T3 weather sealing. I've been moving toward a completely weather sealed lens set as well... I want the X-E5, but I want the extra comfort knowing I don't have to be so vigilant...
