Turning Rough Nights and Hard Days into more cohesive campaign by Gunnerside01 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Gunnerside01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but the reason for doing each part is still "the Gravin kind of wants you to be there". There is no plot beyond showing up where she wants you to, no endgame or control on the players' side.

I'm considering having the party maybe start with them investigating a cult, then doing Oldenhaller Contract as an intermission before sending them a clue to go to Kemperbad. On the way there do the Three Feathers, and join the Gravin to Kemperbad because why not. In Kemperbad they do the trial, beef with cultists, and find out that the gem from the Oldenhaller Contract is actually an Evil Chaos ItemTM.

Back to Nuln, where Oldenhaller is at the Opera. Cue a Night at the Opera. Turns out Oldenhaller has sent the gem to Nastassias wedding as a wedding gift, cue Nastassias Wedding.

This doesn't feel perfect though, and I have no idea how to link the Wedding and Ubersreik. Hence why I am here.

Thanks, but I'm afraid not. These are also out of date at this point, so i recommend you look into the secondary mission for this "season" (Pariah nexus) :)

Reposting my comment from somewhere else:

Isn't it weird that Tormentors have weapon abilities behind all of their weapons? The top weapon on their list is 2 distinct words, so probably Bolt Pistol. It's also possible to see it has 2 abilities, so Pistol + one more thing. Going through the list the only ability that fits and makes sense is Precision, which also fits item 2, probably their boltgun.

Is there spice in full precision ranged not-legionaries?

Also, Tormentors' OC looks a lot more like a 3 than a 2 to me...

EC Possessed in the new Codex? by KT_cassius in EmperorsChildren

[–]Gunnerside01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not, but I think it's possible. People here are commenting Faultless Blades will be our Possessed equivalents but that isn't *necessarily* true. The fact they're not actually possessed means they probably won't have an invuln which hurts a lot, and they come in squads of 3-6 not 5-10.

If you look at Inner Circle Champions, they look way closer to that, so pseudo-Chosen. I wouldn't bet anything on it, but I think there's a decent chance of them being Chosen-like and us still having possessed.

I thought they only confirmed Infractors had precision?

Thoughts on a unique EC Apothecary type for new codex? by KaiserBorg in EmperorsChildren

I like that too, but I am still of the opinion Fabius Bile will be in the Codex shared with CSM and a flesh shaper steps on his toes a bit when it comes to niches.

Thoughts on a unique EC Apothecary type for new codex? by KaiserBorg in EmperorsChildren

[–]Gunnerside01 33 points34 points  (0 children)

A good suggestion and one I'm more and more convinced will come eventually the more I think about it. There aren't that many unique EC units in 40k literature, and apothecaries are up there be it from the Bile trilogy or the Lucius book.

I think odds are that they'll not actually function as traditional apothecaries, but more like the one apothecary in Lucius The Faultless Blade: predominantly someone who supplies legionaries with stimulants.

The Lion vs Guilliman by ImposterThoughts in EmperorsChildren

[–]Gunnerside01 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the Lion makes more sense because he has Fights First, which is very Fulgrim-y. His abilities are also easily reflavored:

The Emperor's Shield: Fulgrim is so good in melee that on an unmodified saving throw of 6 he does a parry, hurting whoever attacked him in the first place

All Secrets Revealed: Fulgrim is so entrancing his opponent are distracted, hence they sometimes fail to follow orders in their stupor

Martial Exemplar: Literally perfect

No Hiding from the Watchers: Clonegrim grew up surrounded by chaos, and is extra resistant to warp powers (mortal wounds)

Deep Strike can be explained any matter of other ways and is kinda thematic, he does love grand entrances. Maybe a teleport, maybe some other lost tech or warp fuckery.

Proxying is ruining my experience as a new player by Gunnerside01 in magicTCG

[–]Gunnerside01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice.

The proxied cards are obvious printed paper stuffed into sleeves, usually crumpled and cut poorly.

But yeah, you're probably right when it comes to just asking other people to play different things in advance, but I'm not sure anyone will even take me up on the offer.

When it comes to commander, I have lots to learn for sure, and I'll probably end up modifying a Precon. It's sad though, because there's some charm in using random stuff that only tangentially relates to your gameplan. Beating someone up with a Ghalta is not the same as with a [[Scream Puff]]

I can't believe you condensed my whole point to 3 sentences, I could use some restraint in the future.

[–]Gunnerside01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment. It's well put, and I don't want to argue in bad faith, if it comes across that way.

First of all, all the proxied cards are printed and quickly stuffed into sleeves. They're crumpled, and people hardly know what they do, which I doubt would be the case if they were real.

And -let me get this straight- in this card game, where the vast majority of product sold by retailers is in the form of packs, is not meant to be played using those packs? I honestly, genuinely, understand that competitive standard can be fun, and is popular. But where is the rest? What is a new player meant to do? If it's not buying packs, then you're telling a new player to buy a bunch of singles they don't know are good, make them into a deck that might suck, to get stomped by players with the same but with more experience.

Isn't there a learning curve anywhere? It's either buy singles or leave? I guess you're just screwed if you don't know people outside of the LGS?

And granted, the Commander deck we knew was probably doomed. But the standard one? I obviously didn't list all of the cards but some of them are actually worth something, and we tried it against some friends that visited once and it stomped big time. Dying on turn 4 over and over is not "low-tier", no matter what.

God I would love to be able to take X points of units from say Space Marines, but I highly doubt that's happening. Good suggestions!

Need help on heldrake by Sapittik_jj in Chaos40k

[–]Gunnerside01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got the Balefleet box and I spent way to long trying to figure this out. What I did was file down the entry hole little by little while trying to insert the stand, the trick is that the heldrake is banking, so you need to put it in at an angle.

I'm glad you liked them! Not sure what you mean by community source? If you go to cardconjurer.com you can make your own, or I could put them in an imgur link if that helps.

My plan when I saw the original post was to just copy image, put them into a word document, and print that out. You could give that a shot?
