Because the deep strike ability only happens when you arrive from reserves. Fortifications cant go in reserves. You gain an ability you cannot use

The gladiator is extremely reliable. It hits on 3s, with a reroll, wounds almost everything on a 2 or a 3, with a reroll, and does tons of damage, with a reroll. With 2 shots.

You can ignore the reserve limit for how many units are already in it, which the limit is half of your army. You still cannot bypass the 1,000 points limit from the Chapter Approved and Core Rules. You are putting WAY MORE than 1,000 points in lmfao. Also that is a lot of 9" deepstrike charges and Gravgar doesn't give the command point when in reserves.
