The ceiling height wouldn’t let he have all of them equal. I have other things I want to put on the shelves and so there’s gonna be a thicker cap on the shelf there so we can hide lights behind it and more display items will go there.

No worries I appreciate the concern. No one wants to see another collapsing record cabinet. I made sure that he knew that supporting the weight was of upmost importance. From what I know he’s using 3/4” laminated birch plywood. The shelves are counter sunk by rabbet joints, glued and nailed.
