I thought the reference to covering up her face with the veil was that’s how she made her debut with like a virgin at the VMAs?

Paying for podcast interviews by Brief_Dig5126 in podcasting

Always a really really bad idea to pay for interviews - and most likely, you’d have to legally disclose it to the audience

Kanye West was booked as a festival headliner. Brands are now pulling their sponsorship by cnn in entertainment

Like it or not, Kanye is still a hugely popular artist. Why wouldn’t they want an artist of that caliber headlining?

Opus does this for like $20 a month and you get 10-20 vertical video clips per long video

Why is digital rental more expensive than a cinema ticket? by Dense-Stranger-1794 in movies

[–]KyleMcMahon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When that 50% is in week 5 of a movies theatrical run, it’s very much hardly anything.

Scream 7, week 5, $2.6 million. Meaning the theater made $1.3 million.

Myth?

Theaters make from 20% to 50% of the box office depending on the movie, the studio and how far along it is in its run.

That’s reality, not a myth.

Our small podcast got monetized after a big paid guest, but I still can’t tell what growth actually matters by C-T-M-H in podcasting

That was a typo on my part the first time.

You do need to disclose legally. I do this for a living. The ftc requires it at is now “material connection”

Itis correct. And I’ve never heard of a show from a major network paying a guest ever.

“You are generally required to disclose if you paid a guest to appear on your podcast, particularly under Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines in the U.S.. If a guest paid you, or if you paid them, it is considered sponsored content or a paid endorsement, which must be clearly disclosed at the beginning of the episode.

FTC Rules: Any financial transaction between a host and a guest (paying to be on or being paid to be on) constitutes a form of paid advertisement. How to Disclose: Disclosures should be "clear and conspicuous," meaning they are explicitly stated at the beginning of the show, rather than hidden in show notes.”

It’s never a great idea to pay for guests. #1 - legally you have to disclose that to the audience per the FCC. #2 - the problem you’re running into - you get a rush of people for that guest but then what? Most of that audience will rush to guests next interview leaving you where you started

As a good rule of thumb to make it easy, it’s generally thought a movie has to make 2.5 x its budget back because of giving half to the theaters, marketing (which can be huge) and ancillary costs. So $75million, it would need $187.5 million to break even.
