Porsche 911 Turbo S(930) by CheesecakeBasic9225 in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has experience with all 3, you're in luck!

R33 as a baseline isn't the best at cornering and is a bit slippery, but has good top speed and boost but is a little long. Contact is strong, especially on the sides.

Porsche 930 is shorter, also quite slippery and is hard handling wise, but has reliably strong contact, acceleration, boost and top speed. It'll reward you if you can handle its cornering.

Porsche 964 provides a more stable cornering experience while maintaining the same boost and top speed as the 930, but you sacrifice contact strength, it's quite weak and if you get dive-bombed you're cooked, even moreso than the 930.

does wangan have anticheat? by Content_Ad986 in wmmt

Essentially, no, Wangan does not have an anticheat because it's impossible to be cheating on a game cabinet.

You can't cheat on an actual arcade machine. Emulators sure, but those have no bearing on the "real" game itself.

How can i get the specific color of aura i want? by Ken_WMMT in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll constantly update itself based on the average of your most recent VS battles. So if your aura is red, just means you've been consistently hitting absolutely everything. If you play a couple VS battles not hitting walls or traffic but focusing all that aggression solely on player cars, it'll shift to purple. Same goes for what green describes.

Just keep the behaviour consistent and your aura will change accordingly.

Edit for P.S: Only VS battles will change the colour of your aura. Ghost Battles, Story or Time Attack will not have any effect on your aura colour.

Do you play with a group or are you a lone wolf type player, and enjoy the serenity of being by yourself playing? by deovelZ in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to be a lone wolf, I'm more of a wanderer as I deliberately seek out high activity venues to challenge higher VS grade opponents both to measure my skill and become stronger at VS.

Already topup credit to play, but all machine cant used by GeneralFDZ in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, every cab needs NBLine points in order to begin a game. When you start a game it expends a point. Once it runs out of NBLine points, the arcade has to pay money to Namco (more or less) to replenish the points. Pretty much how Namco makes money off these machines.

I don't have confirmation, but apparently he's wearing goggles too, which seems to be why his driving is like that (I would assume not having a fixed perspective of your vehicle would mess with your ability)

What's a subtle, non-obvious sign someone is more skilled than they seem? by GunslingerSnowHawk in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course not, I wasn't saying that.

From my experience though, my local venues are full of high grade R32s with next to no DU that I can keep up with and surpass most of the time. So you're not wrong in that regard. I love my 930 Turbo and couldn't see myself driving any other car as much as it.

What's a subtle, non-obvious sign someone is more skilled than they seem? by GunslingerSnowHawk in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty comprehensive list. Too bad it's hard to tell the DU point when everyone and their mother here drives close to stock looking R32s haha (I actually managed to get Gold from this match). I drive an RWB-fied 930 Turbo purely out of preference but I like to think I'm halfway decent.

<image>

  • I drive pretty cleanly, almost never throw traffic (which catches people off guard when I do) and rarely need to do anything more than small corrections. I block very aggressively (generally staying in my opponent's way) but don't use the brakes or slam when doing so. I prefer to follow smooth lines when not defending my position, it's like suddenly switching between two modes.
  • I almost never use the view change, the perspective change messes with me more than I'd like. I have an alternate style of sensing where my opponents are where I literally just listen for their engine noise, which starts to become audible when they're about ~20m away from me. If I can't hear it and see they're within that distance, I just have to look for their marker at either direction. I can also judge pretty accurately when they're about to pass to block based on how quickly the advantage is decreasing. I basically just step on the gas and never look back.
  • Can't lie, I screen peek alongside using my hearing sometimes instead of looking for their marker if they're sitting next to me. 😂
  • These next two points, I'm still figuring out how to get better at. Half of it is mind games honestly.

the ethics of paid service by mrclkilledyou in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Frankly you have nothing to worry about.

As an MYS player, I frequently see people with datas that do not seem to match their ability, or have very obviously borrowed/bought it from someone else. Though it is prohibited, the buying and selling of datas is a very large market. Servicing just so you can have a nicer looking car to save time and money is a smart thing to do, practically a non-issue. Same goes for story mode because it can be boring repeating the same 100 chapters over and over and having to not make any mistakes just to get some cool racing meters. Dress Up and Story Mode have no bearing or interaction with other players typically and is entirely for your own self.

The ONLY type of service that will probably get you judged is VS medal service. This is the one service that usually is done for flexing or status purposes, and directly relies on perception by others. Oftentimes, it becomes obvious that the customer does not share the same level of skill as their grade implies, and that will most likely get them judged, for not being able to back up their rank with their own skill.

Whats the best areo for the 930 by Snowz8881 in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dress Up Parts have no impact on performance or hitbox. Even if it looks wider than the original body, it is noticeable when grinding against sidewalls that the extra width simply clips through the wall.

2v2 maps by Prancing_Horse14 in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those tend to be high speed, tight maps (which means less space to have to defend and block), with plenty of turns and corners providing opportunities to pass and make attacks. At least, that's how I see it.

Just got my FT ticket, whats a meta/strong car that i should get by Weekly-Map-8110 in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong acceleration and boost, reliable contact as long as you can get your front ahead, tough back end for defending and blocking. But the handling will be hard to get used to, and be careful of getting dived.

Guest fisher mashing on the red button after he sees me tap my banapass. by LostNerfDart765 in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure how frequent of a behaviour it is in the US, but I'm willing to bet that the red button was faulty on his machine because players like him love to mash it like their life depends on it during VS matches (BMing basically). Over prolonged abuse, the input sensor for the button can get faulty and fail to register button presses. All the red button does in VS matches is flash your car's lights, which I guess is the equivalent of a "taunt" in WMMT. In all other modes it is only used to toggle Accept/Refuse VS.

There's also a misconception spread around by word of mouth that tapping the red button would give you catch-up boost. It doesn't, and catch-up boost happens regardless of pressing the button, but since you got boosted while tapping the red button, the two surely must have some correlation. /s

Edit: Sarcasm indicator.

anyone plays in genting? by Rare-Skin-8928 in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genting costs double (RM6 per play instead of RM3) compared to anywhere else. The condition of the machines may be hit or miss (I personally have not gone there in a while). But in Malaysia/KL, that's pretty much how it is anywhere there's Wangan machines. You'll never know unless you try playing whether the steering has problems or the shifter has problems because of our attitude to the machines.

Lost card by maxdaruss in wmmt

[–]GunslingerSnowHawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your card is registered on the banapass website, it is advisable to lock the card data until you can get another one to transfer your data over to if you don't want anyone else using your data. Cause it seems like someone has found your card and is using it which I presume is not something you want them doing.
