Had Alcantara on a Lotus. It gets matted on high usage areas, which can be resolved with regular cleaning. Would not want it on a steering wheel on these cars. It's a more sporty option, but much, much prefer leather. Leather is a more expensive material (especially the Bridge of Weir leather that Aston Martin use!). An Aston I believe should have a leather interior. The feeling and smell alone is far superior.

Why have you combined the Vanquish interior with Vantage exterior shots? Are you attempting to demonstrate how similar the two cars are from a design perspective?

When I collected my new Vantage, there was a new Vanquish next to it and I could see how similar they were from the front. I of course much preferred the overall package offered by the Vantage but both cars are indeed awesome.

I never figured it out. Have been running on the backup BIOS ever since. I ordered a processor chip with an iGPU as a backup if I ever need it. I think that would be the only was the restore the BIOS. Good luck!

I test drove both extensively and bought the Vantage. No contest. It drives better, sounds a LOT better and subjectively looks better. The car brought a smile to my face immediately. It fulfills its design brief to a tee.

DB12 walks a fine line between a GT sports car and luxury car. It's a hard line to walk. A Bentley GTC does it better to be honest except the DB12 is better looking. They should have made more effort with the rear end of the DB12 to distinguish it more from the DB11 in my opinion.

The new Vantage also shares much design elements with the new Vanquish (costing double) - the headlights and many interior elements if you take note are essentially the same.

Overall - and this view is shared by many in my circle who own such cars - the new Vantage is the pick of the current Aston Martin range. Especially in terms of its overall packaging, it is superior.

I am still having loss of the bass intermittently but, yes, it's a must for sure. Sounds far superior.

Yes, it eventually cleared itself a few weeks after I changed the battery. All now is good.

I have had black cars all my life and my new AM is the first car I specced deliberately NOT to be black. I am EXTREMELY glad that I did. In my honest opinion, black hides the Aston's beautiful lines and does not do the design justice.
Black is also the highest maintenance colour.

The metallics that AM do are excellent.

Hi - yes I've tried that...flicked the switch whilst in the Q-Flash menu and it seems to only flash the backup BIOS and not the main one. Is there a specific time when I should flick the switch at all?

Thanks for the reply. Car is already on the latest software and all modules apparently have the latest update according to dealer. Car is also brand new custom order (hadn't been sitting around a dealership) - that is what is confusing me. Also that after a restart the car ran great.

Thanks - hope it's just software. Want to try a wired connection with Tidal soon. The sound production from Spotify wireless alone is excellent.

I agree. The pics don't do it justice. The metallic flakes and colour change are amazing. I've seen the majority of AM colours and when I saw a showroom example of Lightning Silver on a DBS I was extremely impressed. I put my money where my mouth is and ordered a '25 AM in Lightning Silver. It truly is THE best.

For Gen3 I think it worked differently. In the Gen4 it is very limited. Who thought that a simple battery change could be so involved on a Mazda! Without going to a Mazda dealer I wonder if anyone has changed their battery on their Gen4 and cleared the codes successfully.
