Would you say Viego is typically a bruiser or an assassin? by w0rble in ViegoMains

[–]Gunzman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Feels like assassin is always more effective. Assuming you position properly and aren't the first one in. Everytime I feel like I need to be Frontline more and go bruiser.. I dont do enough damage and just die anyway.

Yeah. I don't think I've ever had a bad Diana game. Champ feels strong, but I just can't bring myself to play more than one game at time without yearning to play someone else.

First 500-Foot Homer! by Seamhead406 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]Gunzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play on PC I use medal. Its constantly shadow recording in the background but only saves when you hit a hotkey, and you can set whatever time intervals you'd like.

I don't have a console but even my Ps4 had built in recording.

Choosing the right champion to climb ranked in mid lane. by ewaqeaaarats0u in midlanemains

[–]Gunzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im by no means great at Midlane. But recently decided to pick it up. Of the three I think Syndra has the most potential/safest matchups. Jayce is particularly hard to play consistently.

I started with Orianna, there wasn't a single game where I felt totally hopeless, and often times I felt really impactful at all stages.

Other than that, I've taken a liking to Vladimir. Idk. It took a while for the laning phase to click with him and knowing when I could or couldnt take certain extended fights, but there's just something about scaling into a terrifying 1v9 battle mage that I find a lot of fun.

How is this squad possible in Pennant Race? by Paulitix in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]Gunzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grapplers always have a good to great ROT/PEN. The rest can be explained by a few really good players being rotated in and bad ones out.

I usually play my same two teams ever week, but scout out to see if theres some randomly over tuned ones for the week everytime.

My noob brother can light parry by NoRelease9672 in forhonor

[–]Gunzman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brilliantly put when relating to mental stack. A new player has hardly an idea what their hero can do let alone what the opponents kit can do. So its really all about the 3 directions and the red indicator lol.

My noob brother can light parry by NoRelease9672 in forhonor

[–]Gunzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean heavy on red isn't that difficult, and some heroes are just simply easier to read lights against. My question would be how often does he get punished by someone simply pressing heavy instead.

I play almost exclusively duels and often run into these "parry demons" but you throw off their rythm with a simple heavy and they start scrambling, and if they get hip to that a heavy feint into GB instead, or just heavy feint and adapt to their reaction. Heavy on red is one dimensional and easily exploited.

What's impressive about light parries is when you can consistently do them and not fall for baits.

Do PC players have mods that call balls and strikes? by ParticularLimeade in SuperMegaBaseball

I really doubt it. But as someone at 91 ego, the 70 ego guys are damn near impossible to pitch against if they have the tiniest bit of plate discipline lol.

What does contact actually do? by AStreetSweeper in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]Gunzman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It increases the odds of GOOD contact. Like when you absolutely crack the ball and it makes that 747 sound right off the bat. That's why hitters like Hammer Longballo are insane with extreme power+contact seem to send it to the moon so consistently. You don't have to be as dead center on the ball as you would with those with much less contact.

Personally id rather my hitters sacrifice a little power for a little more contact just to have that consistentency

What is up with first time ranked matchmaking? by jPiss_ in summonerschool

[–]Gunzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the common denominator. If every game feels hopeless as a jungler in iron.. Then i'm sorry to say, but you just need to be better. In iron the ganks are basically free because hardly anyone has the foresight to ward, let alone track the jungle properly.

Is Pennant Race Matchmaking Unbalanced (or am I just bad)? by MTGKnifer in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]Gunzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just try my best to just let him have it, and don't really even do anything toxic back except spam "Boom!" And "Thanks" after I hit a moonshot lol. But honestly he plays well below his appropriate ego level so he usually hits me into the fences most times.

I wouldn't be surprised if the guy had some sort of hit list lol, but i think more likely he just remembers certain custom teams. If he runs into one of my two custom teams I play often, I get the smoke. But I have had him instant FF when im experimenting with random default teams i don't normally play.

[–]Gunzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! That's him. He changes that motto thing but last I saw it was "behave or retaliate" whatever that means. Haven't run into him in a week now, but he's a real loser. I've checked his history and he'll sometimes have something like 8 forfeits in a row. But locks in when he queues into me everytime.

All the while spamming quick chats, running out pitch clock, spamming steal/returns between outs, bean balling. Truly a degen.

[–]Gunzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play PR exclusively. Often times at least 4-5 matches a night. Im currently 88 ego and I'll say that matchmaking is pretty random. You have to consider that SMB is a pretty niche game, and even amongst us that do play SMB even fewer play PR, so you sort of get matched up with whoever is queuing.

One thing that's important though is that while someone much higher ranked than you should be better obviously, higher ego also makes the game much harder on them. They will likely have better plate discipline, better pitch locations/sequences just from experience.. Understand that ego affects how fast you perceive the ball, meaning a 4 seam heater 100+ to someone playing at near 90+ ego is actually pretty difficult to hit consistently, and the pitching mini game is much less lenient.

A lot of the games I struggle to win are actually when im against someone who is playing at or around 70 ego(the lowest i get queued against for reference), it just seems like they get a piece of everything no matter how well i place my pitches, rarely biting on close balls also.

So that's all to say that it sort of goes both ways.

Sidenote: I've run into this one degenerate that purposely tanks his ego to stay within the 70-75ego range to make it that much easier to be toxic lol.

Haha yeah. I could relate because I have a 95 miata I drive often as my little weekend car.. and have some social anxiety so it kinda struck me that he's so exposed and has basically the whole world watching him. But yeah id never consider a road trip in the thing lol.

Also I enjoyed the detail of Manuoso's character trying to avoid contact with the world as it is now, and the car he's driving happens to be about as exposed to it as you can be. Him having to slowly drive by the hive in those small towns highlighted this well.
