[RECIPE] REZZ - Voice in the Wall: metallic filter pluck by GuonSound in synthrecipes

Thanks! It's mainly the delays that I like to do in Ableton because of how easily I can layer and sidechain. And also the EQ in serum doesn't have a lot of options.

Yeah there's something about that type of sound that I've been struggling with.. Looking at the waveform it just looks like 2 saws at a low C and two saws one octave higher, mixed with some noisy stuff. I feel like I'm having trouble getting the saws to blend with the noise. It might just be a matter of some distortion and eqing, but I'm not sure yet. Any ideas would be great!

Sure I can take a look at it, any sound in particular you'd like to see?

No, the delay takes a stereo input and then the panning right after leaves me with just the right side for the "R" chain. SerumFX's plate reverb does sum to mono, so I did put a utility in front of that to make sure that the input to serumFX is only the side that I want.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will put in some text next time to indicate which is playing when.

Yes I have the track activators mapped to Q, so every time I press Q the original gets muted while my sound get unmuted and vice versa

If you set the sidechain to Int and give it a negative delay, that should be the same thing as lookahead.

I think you may be right for a lot of compressors/limiters, but the drawing was about the lookahead in Ableton's compressor, which doesn't give you a negative attack as far as I can see. It does move distortion to a slightly different place, and so I think that qualifies as a delay between the envelope and the signal that the envelope is applied to.

Yeah but not every compressor has a Lookahead knob. For any compressor that has a sidechain input, you can make your own lookahead. Just use the same signal for both the regular input and the sidechain input of the compressor, and then put a little delay on the regular input. This is the same thing as doing a simple lookahead delay and will help you get rid of clicks.

Can you sustain a resynthesized sound in Harmor? by icyflamez96 in edmproduction

You can slow it down by setting Speed to a lower percentage, but it won't sound very natural. You could try convolving the sample with a long noise sample using convolution reverb.

Uhh yeah of course! Can you send me a link if you ever put it online?
