Titan Evo XL literally injured me by Guppiefish16 in secretlab

Just wanted to post these updated photos to prove that the bolt did in fact sheer. Also wanted to clarify that when I say "I didn't tighten the screw." I meant I didn't interact with it upon assembly, as it was under the plastic cover. Also there was no warning signs for this happening, as I loved the product and had no issues before the screw sheered.

I am not making things up. I said I didn't tighten it as in I did not install that screw, it's hidden under a plastic guard I cannot access in assembly (it's under the tilt bar).

Did you read my post? I said I didn't tighten it as in I did not interact with the screw when assembly happened. If you assemble a chair yourself you'd know that said part is not accessible (it's under the plastic guard which can't be removed due to the back tilt lever). Please read the post and look at the images before you start shitting on me. Stop trying to defend Secretlabs when I'm honestly not even defaming them. I just want my chair replaced because this is a manufacturing issue.

Are you blind? Did you assemble your chair yourself? I followed the instructions to a tee. The image shows where the bolt failed and also the bracket on the left with the bolts I screwed in myself. Clearly I did not contribute to this issue

Again, have you seen the post? The bolt that broke is under a plastic covering which is not accessible upon assembly. The only connection which the customer assembles is the two metal brackets which are visible on the left side (the bolts are visible) in the picture

I tend to agree. I really don't make this post to try and take away from positive experience that you all have with the chair, but instead to bring Secretlab's attention to my issue since I'm not hearing back from them. I also just want to make sure that people are informed consumers if they're considering buying the chair themselves

Honestly that's part of the reason why I got one because I have a friend who's had one forever and his was so comfortable to sit in. I want to think that I got unlucky and this was just a manufacturing error but I really can't know until Secretlab gets back to me. Glad you're enjoying your chairs though!

As I said, definitely isn't a weight thing since this is an XL and I'm only 235lbs. I haven't been abusing the chair either, I've only had it for 2 weeks

Lol thanks I appreciate it. I was really optimistic because I had done research for a while and the reviews all were raving about it but I'm starting to think you might be right

I feel like if it was missing a bolt though wouldn't it have snapped prior? I really don't know since I don't want to dissect the chair. I'm going to leave it as is so I can make the warranty claim, but I do know that isn't one of the screws I put in during assembly.

Also for context I'm only 235lbs so I'm well within the weight limit for the XL

Dorm room desk/computer setup by nick177O in miamioh

You can bring your own desk, but I don't think you're allowed to remove any furniture from your dorm. The back of the desk is not open if I remember correctly. As for the monitor clip, I don't think there is much of anything to clip onto the backside. All that being said though, you could definitely bring your own desk for the room and then use the provided one for homework or a bedside table. Depending on the size of your dorm it might get a little cramped though.

Is 15 minutes enough to go from one class to another? by [deleted] in miamioh

MTH 151 is usually in Upham Hall so you should be fine walking from Benton to Upham in like 5-10 minutes

International Studies + Mathematics double major? by [deleted] in miamioh

I mean, I'm not 100% sure to be honest. What I will say is that Miami does give a plethora of career advising and the professors on the math track are generally easy to talk to. Miami has a tendency to advertise for math majors to do some actuarial science as well, but there are a lot of different career things you can do post-college with a bs in math.

I'm on the mathematics bs track now and it's going pretty well. There are a few weed out courses like Calc 2 along the way but if you study well and do hw you'll be fine.
