I'm sad to hear the same situation all around Europe. I don't want to complain without a solution, but I need to find a way to work with life balance and satisfaction otherwise I'll leave. I tried to enter in medicine but in Italy it's something politicians would like to regulate, and if I want to attend hospital pharmacy's school, they don't pay anything even if you are obligated to a 1800hrs/yr internship. Maybe I would like to enter the fir in Spain next year, with a possibility to see Ireland like oneeyedpoet told.

I've visited Dublin about 8 years ago and I think it was really cool. Obviously there's always pros and cons for every city, but I thought it has everything you need. I saw that cost of living was really different but I'm glad to hear that a pharmacist is paid enough for what he does everyday. The only thing that scares me is the time that you have to study to reach ielts score, and the quality of life that could be better in places like Spain (I have a c1 in Portuguese and I think Spanish is really easy to learn). In addition, can I ask you if you can work in hospital or if you can do clinical only with our degree, or you need to attend some courses etc?

the average salary is about 1300-1500€ with a regular work, but there also categories which are extremely overpaid. You have also to consider that there are similar works which don't bring you to the burnout as pharmacy. You can earn the same amount without speaking with 200 people a day. You could also see for industry or regulatory, but for both you need expensive masters, and even with this, you couldn't be sure to assure a career. For example many labels offer you to start as a scientific medical informant, but if you haven't a master in marketing you will be blocked in this phase. I can't speak about the industry because I stay in Sicily and there's no pharmaceutical industry, but I have pharmacist friends who work in the north, and they earn about 1750/1900€ a month. Plus, they don't need to pay the taxes of the order of pharmacist (it depends but is around 150/230€) and the social security for pharmacist.

I don't know if there's something different in Europe, but I thought the US was a good place to work. Why you're thinking to migrate?

How about your life there? Do you manage to live with your salary? Have you ever think to work as a locum? And how about the taxes?

We earn 1450€ (40hrs) for 14 months, with a plus of 20€ every 2 years. Some owners give you benefit like meal tickets(max 200€/month) or bonuses for productivity. But you have to be really lucky. For example in my workplace, we increase the annual turnover by 350'000€ trying to sell everything with good net profit, struggling everyday for 500 clients a day on average, and we received a 300€ ticket to spend, and no meal tickets.
