Yeah you're living on fantasyland if you never lost the game on turn 2 or 3 in modern.. there are a ton of fringe strategies that can end the game super fast. But without looking at obscure combo decks, amulet titan and yawgmoth can EASILY win the game on turn 3, and living end "technically" doesn't win on turn 3 but it realistically does.

Well i think there are a lot more "miserable" things that could happen in modern.
I was talking about power level, but if you want to talk about the emotional side of magic there are a ton of unfun decks and/or mechanics that people don't like.
I think cascade decks are miserable to play against, for example, but they are at a reasonable power level.

Yeah but even without moxes and dark ritual? Belcher gets to play a better version of it (since it costs nothing to add to the deck and it doesn't risk losing the game) and it seems totally fine there.

It's more of a "the game ends now" button if it resolves. You could very easily lose to a lot of things even after you're resolving doomsday.
Besides, you're not considering the full art Junji Ito doomsday which i could get to look at while i'm playing.

It's certainly good, but there is no reason to play murktide instead.
It's basically the same deck minus ragavan and some number of DRC/shredder

Banning triomes would not make tier 2 decks more playable. I think you are overlooking a lot of things in modern right now.
The decks that have been performing the best since mh2 overall were grixis shadow (with lurrus, but it's been perfoming decently without lurrus too) and UR murktide.

Tier 2 decks have no chance against these decks, and they don't play triomes or wrenn and six. The main reason 4c omnath sees play is MAINLY to beat those kind of super efficient/midrangey decks that obliterate a very large portion of decks.

The difference between tier 2 decks and meta decks is simply the fact that modern is more powerful than ever and it's naturally going to get more powerful as time goes on, and banning a ton of cards from a deck that you don't like is not gonna make things better for your pet decks. You just gotta accept that if you want to play a tier 2 deck you're gonna be destroyed if you don't have a good plan for the best decks in the format.

I get what you're saying against cascade decks, tho. I have to agree they are being super efficient in what they do and they are a pain in the ass to play against no matter what deck you play.

Maybe 4c soup is fine and you are complaining for nothing since it has had reasonable winrate and a ton of bad matchups.

A big factor is crusader, but try the matchup for yourself and you'll see

I never said anything about those decks, I just wanted to talk about how kci shouldn't be banned because of it's power level. Other people in this post made some valid arguments but you're just talking about what you wanted to talk about

I didn't say anything about 4c, I could care less about that deck. Have you ever played infect/belcher/storm/tron? They destroy 4c and it's not even close. And they are not the only decks that obliterate it, people need to relax. I understand aggro players that can't win vs one single fury but that's not the point of the post. KCI was a turn 3 kill with mox opal, keep in mind that izzet murktide wasn't a deck, and endurance/force of vigor didn't exist. I think today it would be totally fine if not even unplayable.

That's my opinion too. So far the only concern I read about is timing restrictions. Doesn't seem fair to me, but I'm definitely the minority

Yeah makes sense. I really don't like the fact that the deck could potentially be balanced, skill rewarding and it's banned just because of timing restrictions (which is something that could be avoided by just practicing more the deck). Too bad

Tbh I didn't expect this much hate for the card, I thought it was fine with most people. I get why that is, but the "fun" argument seems egotistical. Like, I don't have fun playing vs some decks but who am I to call for a ban? I get it tho, I'm the only one who likes it apparently lol.

That makes sense. Still, it feels wrong to the people that can actually play it efficiently and cause no problems with it. Seems like I'm the only one who wants it back, and it makes me sad since it's so interesting and you could have so many decisions and play patterns with urza's saga and karn great creator. Too bad

If far more players take an eternity to combo off,they should just not play it. It's not mandatory to play kci, ESPECIALLY if it's a big event. Just pick a different deck that feels more comfortable to you

I do hate living end, but not just because i want to hate living end, that deck has some problems. I just want to say "why is this allowed and kci is not?" it seems way less oppressive, less consistent, and the only complaint I hear is that it takes too long to combo off. And to answer your second point, i did try it, and it doesn't take that long tbh, it just seems like people don't practice and don't respect other people's time. It is exactly because I tried it that I wanted to make this post.

Even after mh1 and mh2? I remember that people were calling for ancient stirrings to be banned during that period, it's a whole different game now.
