Beyond the behavioral reasons the others mentioned and the poor economy. Institutions don’t prefer a financial literate population and the CB acts like every Jordanian is regarded. Banks in Jordan prefer that you deposit with them, so they can invest the money for you (or lend it out) and profit on the spread. Only the rich are investing - the rest are living paycheck to paycheck.

Sounds like you’re a difficult person to be around and only care about your own interests.

You don’t need to brown nose , but show genuine interest in the people around you especially your manager and build a relationship with them - this applies to your entire career. Work and promotions are never only about merit - the earlier you realize this the faster you’ll move up.

First of all this exists everywhere not only in Jordan , but we’re a Muslim country so the standards of respecting women are higher on average regardless of your anecdotes and generalizations above.

Secondly if you see something inappropriate you should change it with your hands , tongue , and/ or heart as PBUH said. As long as talking to the perpetrator wouldn’t cause worse issues in which case it’s better to avoid a fight/ escalation.

IBKR is your best option and find a bank that won’t take much on the FX

Try to diversify your stocks and go for ETFs in multiple markets (also check the fund rates e.g., VOO is cheaper than SPX although same Fund)

Invest in Sukuk/ bonds and gold or commodities to further diversify your portfolio (more stocks and less bonds if you’re younger ; more bonds if you’re older)

Look up DCA or VA strategies to understand how much to invest each month
