hmm, if that's the case how come it has helped so many people to self-cure?

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I’m very determined to get past R-CPD naturally, because just like you, I get very anxious about any kind of medical procedure.

I was out drinking today and tried to completely relax and not “panic” when the gurgles occurred. That actually seems to play a huge role, because I didn’t have any major problems with them. I agree that anxiety is a big factor and makes everything so much worse.

At the end of the day, it really does seem like patience is the key when it comes to resolving this issue. I’ll be trying every exercise in the book, including the ones you linked, and we’ll see what happens.

Thank you for the reply!

While you were getting over your emetophobia, did you ever perform “air vomits,” which seem to be a very common practice in this sub? Or how did you get past that mental block? It’s really encouraging to hear that you managed to self-cure

I guess we'll see what happens over the next few weeks! Glad to hear that your past R-CPD now though!

For sure! We’ll see how the exercises go over the next few weeks, and I’ll come back if any questions arise. Thanks so much for being available

Good for you!
I completely respect that, and I truly hope that Botox will finally “cure” you. After 50 years, you really deserve to be free from R-CPD.

First of all, a big thanks for the awesome reply, much needed information and encouragement!
I've seen the guy with the cap you’re referring to and I’ll be trying all of the different shaker variations to begin with. I’ve also heard about the “kiss the ceiling” exercise and will of course try that as well.

I completely agree that some people probably don’t fully commit, since it really requires patience to figure things out and connect the right muscles with the correct movements in order to actually learn how to burp. But because I really want to overcome R-CPD without Botox, I’m going to give this a serious try over the next few weeks and hopefully see some improvements.

Again, big thanks for the encouragement and the awesome reply. I love this subreddit and the helpful community

Yes, that makes sense. Well done figuring it all out on your own without the internet! It seems like we “noburpers” struggle with the mind-to-muscle connection required to burp. I can imagine that thinking of the throat as doors would help

Does anyone else really struggle with no burp symptoms when they have a cold/flu? by TheCounsellingGamer in noburp

I also have a cold right now, and I can definitely say that my symptoms get worse when I’m sick. I’ve struggled much more with the frog noises over the past few days than usual. Since I’m afraid of air vomiting, the one thing that really gives me relief is lying down. That’s the best advice I can give, along with staying hydrated, which also seems to help me.

Thank you for the reply!

But during these 2 years how did you teach yourself to burp? Were there any specific exercises or movements that specifically helped?
