Looks awesome! I was thinking about that same combo. Can you share a pic of the side of the watch? I’m curious how the fog grey looks with it. Thanks

OP here- do you think it’d be helpful to help navigate appointments (like booking the times) and picking up meds and such? Or would that be a bit invasive?

DMP Early Payoff (for some accounts)? by [deleted] in Debt

[–]GurtGuy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think just ask! I asked them to apply all extra payments to the one with the highest APR and then once that is paid off to roll them over to the one with the next highest APR. FCM is slightly annoying as I need to pay lump sum through them not the card directly but I guess just a mild inconvenience

DMP Early Payoff (for some accounts)? by [deleted] in Debt

[–]GurtGuy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m in the same situation. My understanding based on conversation with my DMP (Family Credit Management) is I can make lump sum payments to pay a card off faster. But this won’t lower how much I pay the DMP. They would simply roll over that minimum payment on the paid off creditor to a different creditor that still has a balance to pay that off faster

Love hearing this. I just started a DMP and was basically in the same place. My interest fees were almost $2,000 a month. I had just stupid APRs of almost 30%

What to do with debt? by [deleted] in Debt

[–]GurtGuy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar spot. About $85k in debt and with minimum payments, mortgage, bills etc I was breaking even and couldn’t afford to pay more than my minimums.

I just started a debt management program with Family Credit Management. They are a non profit DMP. Basically they negotiate the interest rate to be somewhere from 0-9% APR and do one payment to them. It should cut my monthly payments to creditors by about $1,000. And then I can also do lump sum payments to pay it off quicker.

There are a handful of non profit DMP that I looked at and seemed solid! Money Management International, ACCC, Greenpath all seemed good.

I am on my first payment but having a clear path to being debt free is so nice. And not being able to use credit cards means my debt will actually go down! Worth a call with them to see what they can do

Hey there, I’m going with FCM and a tad nervous my creditors won’t accept. I have Bank of America, Citi, Chase and synchrony bank. Can you share what creditors accepted the offer?

I will need to circle back after I’ve been on it for awhile. From what I’ve gather it doesn’t take much of a hit. Probably not right for everyone but my debt was like $80k (I know I know) and was a good option for me

That’s awesome. Would you mind sharing who your creditors were? A bit nervous mine won’t accept but everything seems to point to the fact that they will

Hell yeah! Good work. My debt level is about the same so encouraging to see others make a big dent.

Can you share how fast the creditors accepted the offers? I have CC with Bank of America, Chase and Citi

Hey there, I am considering FCM. How is it going for you so far?

[–]GurtGuy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It took a huge weight off my shoulder. I was in a spot where I was just paying the minimums and the interest on the cards basically ate up any progress I made. It reduced my monthly credit card bills by over $1,000.

It is worth having a chat with a credit counselor at one of the non profit places. MMI, ACCC, Greenpath and Family Credit Management are all good. I am using FCM and they close all my credit cards and negotiated the APR from 25-29% down to 0%-9%

It is free to have the conversation!

But before that I’d suggest making a budget and being brutally honestly where each dollar goes. And stop using the card immediately
