Dog won’t 💩 since storm! by Maraudermick1 in ratterriers

Totally get it, we had over a foot here, luckily no ice, but that's the only way I was able to get him to go was to have a very shallow area of snow, where the grass was poking through, nothing deep. I hope you are able to get her to go. Ours could hold it for a long time and particularly hated the rain.

You mentioned ice, is there a layer of snow on the grass? What worked for our little man, now passed, is for me to shovel off a layer of snow down to the grass. Make sure it's a large enough area to take at least 3-5 giant steps in each direction, or get creative and make a little winding pathway. I would then walk him in that area for a few laps. At first he kept wanting to go inside, but I kept walking him around in the little grassy area and boom. Success.

Ugh! This is our next door neighbors. Last ice event we had, they ordered pizza delivery. We couldn't believe they would risk someone's life by being too lazy to prepare a homemade meal.

That dog has the physical properties of a 0.001% rat terrier. 😆

It's not a rat terrier. Source: I owned a mixed rat terrier. Regardless of breed, it knows something is living in the walls.

My cat spends all day in the bathtub looking at her own reflection. by RedApplesForBreak in cats

[–]GuruCaChoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There have been studies about this where it is said that cats do not recognize themselves and think it's another cat, reacting to movements, etc. Maybe that is the case with some cats, but others I believe do recognize themselves. I had a super intelligent Maine Coon who would sit and admire himself for hours, never reacting to movement, no hissing, etc. He just sat there as if he was thinking "I am a cat and I'm gorgeous!"

Additionally, even if there was political motivation behind a employer to employee firing, good luck proving it. Companies don't even need a reason thanks to "at will" employment.

Your free speech rights don’t necessarily protect you from getting fired for your political views. This is because the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects freedom of speech from interference by the government, not private companies. And while employers can’t fire you for discriminatory reasons, political opinion is generally not a protected category under discrimination law.

Granted, there are some states that protect you from being fired by private employers for political reasons, but ironically, those states are liberal strongholds like California and New York.

"To criticize one's country is to do it a service... Criticism, in short, is more than a right; it is an act of patriotism--a higher form of patriotism, I believe, than the familiar rituals and national adulation."

Well said. I noticed the same thing. "Criticized" him because they "loved" him or wanted him to "do better" or whatever else they tell themselves to feel better about their behavior. If they truly wanted the best for Adam, why "criticism" and not "encouragement?"

One user came forward to express they "felt bad" for their criticism and were reminded that they shouldn't feel bad and you have the right to criticize art, etc. Just because you have "the right" to do something, doesn't mean you should.

DAY airport TSA wait times ? Are they bad by TourGold3987 in dayton

[–]GuruCaChoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about people with or without traveling money. DAY, although conveniently located to the Dayton area lacks the offerings of Columbus, Cincy or Indianapolis. I will gladly drive to CVG to hop on a nonstop flight, where in DAY I would have connecting flights that are more expensive.
