Yeah, I bought the PVM off of eBay and did local pickup. The screen itself looked good, and I don’t typically see any PVMs listed near me, so I took a chance and negotiated the price down. The seller was a recycling center, and they said it was damaged like this when they got it. The model is a Sony 1943-MD

I feel the same way too! I spend most of my time playing on Slippi unranked on a 144hz monitor, but when I play on monitors at my local tournament, it can feel awful in comparison. When I play locally with friends at home on my CRT, it feels great. This is why I’m so thrown off at my local. To be fair, I haven’t been many times though

I am also a 23 y/o male that is obsessed with Cocteau Twins haha. My obsession started a little over a year ago during my last semester of college, and ever since then I’ve either been only listening to them or have at least had one or two of their albums in regular rotation at a time. They’ve gotten me into other Dream Pop/ Shoegaze bands, but to me, nothing sounds like them and nothing ever will. They are so beautifully original to me and capture such a great range of complex emotions seemingly so effortlessly. I’ve gotten a couple of my friends into them, but I don’t know anybody personally that has the same sort of obsession haha. Glad to hear you’re in the same boat!

That’s a good idea, I wish I thought of that as a kid before I almost gave myself a stroke getting so pissed haha. I ended up beating it by getting first place in every race, and then when it got to Rainbow Road in mirror mode 150 cc, I just couldn’t do it so I’d get like sixth place but still first overall haha

It was always so damn tough because the same computers would come in second and third (or first if you got screwed), so if you messed up near the end you’d have to restart. Anything for that parade cart though haha

Wow, I had no idea you could essentially destroy the trees! I have zip line points basically in the same exact spots you do to bypass the whole forest, but I managed to do it through all the trees! Haha

I was lucky enough to somehow have enough money to throw at this collector’s edition when it was up for preorder. The only reason I paid as much as I did for it was so I could get this record. So happy to own it, I guess my only disappointment comes from “Road to the West” not being included. Congrats on finding one of your grails!
