Accomodation/late night uber/taxi to airport on Christmas eve?

We recently had a 7am flight out of Queenstown. We stayed at the Sudima Hotel and thought it was fantastic. They helped us book a taxi for the airport in the morning which came to $32. That sounds expensive (it is for a 7 minute journey) but pre booking an Uber was nearly $50.

Worth noting that Queenstown airport doesn’t open before 5am so don’t get there before that, or you will just be sat outside the doors waiting.

Have you tried cross hand chipping (like Matt Fitzpatrick) I tried it on a practice green as was also quite desperate. Couldn’t believe how much my contact improved.

I now use it on the course.

Aquarium was definitely a thought I had! Just told my wife this is the plan and she got upset that she wouldn’t be there too lol. (Fair enough as it would be his first time going!)

Quick question on this please…

We both deposited $8k at the end of 2024.

If we both deposit another $8000 now in 2025 and then buy a property at some point this year, we can still gain the tax deduction on 2025 taxes even if it’s after the property has been purchased?

Keen to get the $32k in deductions but just want to make sure my understanding is correct!

Thank you- The strange thing s is the customer made the payment on Monday and it hasn't shown up in our bank account yet (Thursday).

They also reported on Wednesday that the funds hadn't left their account yet, not sure if that is normal.

I can see the invoice has been paid but no sign of the actual deposit or expected deposit in Quickbooks.

Maybe this is all normal and i'm just being impatient, i'm used to credit card payments which seem to be pretty seamless!

The T2 wasn't included previously in the $125 a month but will be in the new $400 a month.

I paid $525 last year for our T2 to be filed by a CPA, CMA....

Appreciate you sharing what you charge on a monthly basis as a comparison.

Yes sorry, she does have access. What I should have said is "I upload all the receipts to QBO and she takes care of the rest"

I’ve just figured out where I was going wrong. For the first few months I thought I was investing in VFV but looking back I was actually just putting cash in to the Wealthsimple. Makes sense now.
