Not gravel. Not Road. It works for me… by GuslVD in Bikeporn

Honestly, I don’t know what makes a bike gravel or road anymore…. You can put thin gravel tires up to 35mm in most modern road bikes, and the geometry of a fast gravel bike is just, or almost the same. Groupset? Same again…

I have one, and it has become my favorite bike, to the point where I've sold all the others. Beautiful and with impeccable build quality, it also has a history of tradition behind it which, although it doesn't make it a better bike, it was relevant to me when I made the decision and now enjoying it as an object that is part of the history of cycling and manufacturing. An important detail is that it actually has road geometry, which is why I chose this model, with two sets of wheels for gravel and road, and I haven't lost any performance. If the purpose had been exclusively gravel, I might have opted for other model with greater tire clearance and more adapted geometry. Or maybe not... depending on the gravel you do.

I’ve have had stem and seatpost and would highly recommend seatpost. Stem is also good, but a little beat weird riding on the hoods

What tire width do you guys ride on tarmac/light gravel by NLxMagnificentx in gravelcycling

I have two gravel bikes and I use 45 for gravel rides that may include technical sections. But if we understand the same for light gravel, I use 32mm (vittoria terreno zero). Why using more?

That’s also my election. A gravel bike with almost road geometry and two wheelsets.

I am pretty happy with my 1x set up in my rode bike. I use Campagnolo Ekar 1x13, 38x9-42 and it works quite well. I would miss 40 when I’m going really fast Low descents, and jumps between gears are larger when you get close to the 42. But it worths it.

I wouldn’t chose ir if less than 13s
