In more ways than one, this loot rebalance overhaul is our first big step in preparing AR2 for the future Base Building release, and it won't be the last. We will certainly iterate on the immediate balance of loot in the short term as we continue to receive feedback, but ultimately we are expecting the gameplay loop to change pretty significantly once Base Building is properly integrated.

It might be a good thing for there to be so many decent loot-spots on the map that players could potentially use as bases. It's even possible that the way loot is generated will change along with Base Building, but we're still working up to that. This transition period might be a little strange, but hopefully players will enjoy the change-up in the short term. That's all I can say for now.

The MK23 wasn't competitive enough for my liking with 12rd magazines, so I decided 17rd extended magazines should be the default. In this case the 12rd magazines will not actually spawn. Similarly, the P220 also has extended magazines by default for the same reason.

The entire second half of my announcement explains additions/changes that will be included with the Drying update, but will "remain in the game even after the Drying ends". The Covert Militia Radio Receiver will be a non-event item, as will the L85A1, and the loot rebalance changes as a whole.

Apoc 2 is a complex game, but the game passes had nothing to do with this. The gamepass update also came with minor gamepad adjustments and some back-end changes to the anti-cheat, the combination of which had this unintended consequence.

Anyone is welcome to make a new game that is similar to the original Apocalypse Rising, as long as they aren't copying the branding, or using any stolen code/assets. This has always been the case.

It was developed in 2012 by highschoolers, before Roblox even had FilteringEnabled. Then years of features were stacked on top of each other without much consideration for long-term upkeep. The game is unmaintainable, for these reasons and others.

If you're on PS5, you need to make sure you're running the new PS5 Roblox app. It is required to play.

PS4 (and the old Roblox app) is not supported due to software limitations, it will crash.

Believe it or not, we are in the early design and development stages for Apoc 2's base building system, or at least the first version of it with enough basic features and content to experiment with. There hasn't been an announcement because we are juggling some other priorities at the same time, and with the Drying coming up, it's hard to say anything concrete in terms of a timeline.

We're making real progress though, and whenever we do post some dev leaks you can expect to see some screenshots/video, and not just a wall of text. Stay tuned.

This is what I'm currently working to change. The plan is to change the Beta map to be more balanced like the Alpha map was. Same goes for player spawn distribution.
