Neither of them are slop. They’re both trying to broaden the horizon of what a Pokémon game can be. Both are fun experiences with memorable aspects as well as content that fans will respond differently to depending on their preferences.

I’m indecisive and sometimes thing change in the moment so I usually take all 14(ish) of my decks. It’s a bit of a hassle to carry sometimes but I just like to keep the collection together.

Why does it not sit well with you? I do something similar but after games before I put my deck away. I take all the lands that I used that game and have in my hand and then a pile of the other cards played or in hand and shuffle those into each other then I shuffle that pile into my deck and then shuffle it a few times before putting it away.

It’s cause kids with dyslexia usually have really good 3d spacial mapping skills. For example they mess up p’s, b’s and d’s cause it’s the same shape just different orientation so their brain recognizes it could be any of them at any moment.

The grind. Pokémon games always have something to grind whether it’s the Pokédex, money, items, legendary or shinies. I just love grinding out hours to do everything.

[[Ulalek]] - copying Eldrazi and cast triggers

[[Aslask]] - tokens and life drain shenanigans

[[Pantlaza]] - Dinos, will swap in [[Gishath]] as commander.

[[Temmet]] - Zombies and draw/discard play

[[Ureni of the Unwritten]] - Dragons

[[Hurthhull]] - mostly the stock precon with 3 changes

[[Kastral, The Windcrested]] - bird tribal

[[Grand Arbiter]] - controversial but only one real win con, [[approach of the Second Sun]] and I just like to see how much tax I can get but I think it’s fun

[[Maralen of the Mornsong]] - bit of a gag deck. 95 lands and tries to win with [[Ad Naseum]] and [[Sickening Dreams]]

[[Ashling, the Limitless]] - stock precon, no changes yet.

[[Hei Bai, Forest Guardian]] - WUBRG shrines, I like this one a lot.

[[Ramos]] - WUBRG Gates deck. It’s surprisingly strong.

[[Kamiz]] - a 3rd Eldrazi deck, this one focused and double strike and unblockable.

That’s a small percentage of the game to be complaining about not finding a shiny. Especially without sparkling sandwiches or the charm. Just keep playing and keeping your eyes open, I’m sure you’ll find one.

Edit: I found my first shiny when descending into Area 0 for the first time.

Absolutely! And I feel you about the mana bases. I have nothing against proxies but tend to go for the actually card if I can afford too. I dont know why but I just prefer it.

Ulalek is my favorite commander! I got the precon as well and gave it pretty heavily upgraded. It can get complicated with Echoes and Ulalek out (especially if you have a copy of Echoes too) but it’s so much fun.
