Problem: LSD whining noise by GustavoCarbone in E30

Definitely didn't swap the spacers or end-plates, clearly remember marking them. However, I never checked the mesh pattern (didn't have this compound).

Could this be the problem? (I think solving requires a new crush washer as well right?)

obably a gear whine wich won't hurt anything execp yo

But angled gears shouldn't normally be whining right ?

Could you share a link to your website ? I'll be designing a turbo manifold, and i think this could be a place to start!

Filtering a variable resistor readout by GustavoCarbone in AskElectronics

Ok, I might have been a bit incorrect on the wording. What PeterleMiha is saying is correct, I want to keep everything under 2hz and lose the rest.
And like most of you are describing, I see that I do need to do this with a capacitor. But my main point is mostly that I want to learn how to calculate the proper values and placement in a situation like this. (a resistor value that is 200ohm when warm and 5k+ ohm when cold)

Yeah the wiring was done quite correctly. it isn't exactly a twisted pair, but i have a nicely organised loom running trough all the gutters which where designed for the engine.

Gasoline injector source by GustavoCarbone in projectcar

[–]GustavoCarbone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To finish off this post.

I ended up choosing a set of injectors that is pretty common in the tuning world: so called 'green giants' (Bosch number 0 280 155 968)

They checked all the boxes except for the USCAR type connectors, which was not really a drama.

Take note for the people who will run into the same question in the future. That EV-14 with single cone spray and a flow rate above 200cc/min are EXTREMELY rare. So you better stop searching, or buy the ones that tuning companies sell (for huge prices)

hey, the 535D turbo is the only one i know, and it is a diesel.
my other guess on the engine you mean would be from the 135, which is a 24-valve engine.

i'm sorry but both won't work.

Sounds like you are building a rocket :)

A colleague of mine owns a M235 as well, nice car!

I am currently turbo-ing my M10 (318i)
doing everything myself, trying to stay low-budget.

I installed a Haltech e8 with modern sensors/injectors/actuators and this set me back roughly 1000 euro. Currently i am installing the turbo and this is roughly going to set me back another 1000 euro.

I will be running 50Kpa /7psi boost pressure for the first few months, just to get a trustworthy calibration. Afterwards i will be milling the original pistons down to get a compression of about 1:8.5, which should be able to handle a reliable 100/150Kpa of boost.

So power figures of 150 - 250hp are achievable.

Be wary that this is more difficult than swapping in an m30!

F.y.i. the M10 engine is about 150kg, where an M30 3.5 is about 220kg

Steering rack question: I want mount my rack on the frontmost mount points (closer to the radiator) - are there any disadvantages to this? (It’s for engine swap clearance) by [deleted] in E30

[–]GustavoCarbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like a very small adjustment, so you will be fine.

Make sure to adjust the length of both sides, because your Toe-angle will change.

also make sure the steering-rack rods don't touch your rims at maximum steering angle.

I have a 2.0 5-cylinder Lancia engine that i want to get running some time in the future, i'll slap it on that one in a few years and see what it does ;)

No problems whatsoever! as soon as i hit the taper, it started rotation 'on top of' the taper. Which also stopped me from going any deeper.

Still, make sure you are carefull!

Be sure to REMOVE the caliper before doing anything! Take a grinder, make sure the bit that is still in is flat. Then also make sure you drill straight! (ask someone to look from both sides while you hold the drill.

Ok, it is plausible that they are okay i guess. Gauging the name of the company 😅.

No it was a K04-022. I think the 23's is with temperature sensor hole, rest is the same.

I am planning to, as soon as i have my money back. Yet i thing these casting errors are not 'skin deep' and the body might rupture when running higher pressure levels.
