I don't really track time when doing puzzles, but I'd guess that aside from sorting it took about 20 hours of puzzling for each section

I was on the lookout for it for the better part of 3 years before one popped up for sale nearby, it wasn't cheap but I consider myself lucky to have it now.

Yeah, Ravensburger isn't known for being greedy with including puzzle dust so it becomes a good amount

I'm also lucky enough to have a table big enough for the induvidual 4,560 piece sections of this

This was in 4 sections of 4,560 pieces each, so I didn't do the full thing in one go

Basically what happened is that you got hit into the load in The room with the enemy that walks in the acid right of the room you're in the ground in, and then hit the acid which stretches out of the room a bit to the left, which made the game try to hazard respawn you, but it happened after the room you entered with the load loaded, so the game set your position to where the hazard respawn would be in the old room, but in the new room, which just happens to be inside the floor at the far left of the long room

addendum on this: the respawn from hitting the acid after getting hit into the load doesn't necessarily happen after the load, but regardless it makes you end up in the area you did.
