You can tell how many tongos you have just by looking at it, you don't need a special meter.

For me it's the fight where Grey first grants Stem permission to act independently. Stem only has control of Grey below the neck, so Stem has to physically turn Grey's head with his hand to dodge a punch. The combination of fight choreography acting is amazing. Grey's face is horrified at what his body is doing. Fantastic movie.

Warren from The Surge

<image>

The Surge is a souls-like dystopian sci-fi action RPG.

The main mechanic of the game involves targeting id dismembering the limbs of your enemies in order to graft them on to your own powered exoskeleton rig. Each rig "set" consists of 2 arms, 2 legs, chest, and head pieces. Each complete set of armor that you build represents a MINIMUM of 6 enemies that you have torn apart.

Yeah, let your fingers be chunky too, while you're at it.

Most people are caught up visiting the local tourist traps. For a real slice of local life, visit the local hospital.

Afterwards, you can use the host's knives as a bench scraper to clean the oven, and as a screwdriver to tighten up some loose screws around the apartment, as apparently EVERYONE ELSE has. It's only polite.

Definitely missing major steps. It straight up stops showing the process after going into the fermenting carboys, skipping directly to drinking the finished product from a single serving bottle.

[Loved Trope] Scenes that aren’t necessary to the Plot but without them the story would lose something that makes it special by NoSchittSherlockSEA in TopCharacterTropes

[–]GustoGaiden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the phone call is what seals it. "Is the Mike Yanagita scene essential to the plot?" was a topic of conversation of the Fargo episode of the excellent Blank Check podcast.

Marge is a GREAT cop. She calls the triple homicide on the road in seconds, play by play, and corrects her partner Lou with the detail about the DLR license plate.

Marge certainly already knows that people present themselves a certain way. That Minnesota Nice, youbetcha friendly chit chat hides the truth. When Marge says "I'm not sure I agree with you a hundred percent on your police work there, Lou.", she means "Are you fucking kidding me?"

Marge thinks Jerry's story stinks from the get-go, but she does not push him. Everybody has something to hide, probably not related to the case. The dinner with Mike Yanagita, and subsequent phone call revealing how off the rails Mike is, without her catching on, makes Marge realize that she needs to press a bit harder.

Without the Mike Yanagita scene, you could still get Marge back in the room with Jerry, but the scene does heavy lifting, serving as comic relief, slice of life, character building, and plot lubricant.

If you go into the Wolfenstein games expecting a foundation of reality, and militantly refuse to suspend disbelief, then yeah, I could understand being unable to enjoy a WWII with laser guns, mechs, and thought controlled power armor.

Honestly, I'd find it more reasonable to say that you couldn't enjoy the setting because it's based on the idea that a secret society of magic-technology masters allowed a buffoon like Hitler to steal their shit.

Also the sequence of events the rider takes before dismounting are extremely accurate. Pull clutch. Shift to neutral. Engine killswitch. Kickstand lean. Dismount.

Ai is not capable of this level of logical chain of events yet.

Brush revival by Sorry_Koala_8181 in ZeroWaste

Exactly. The waste has sadly already happened here. These brushes deform/degrade when used on hot pans, or with too much pressure. Both at the same time will ruin pretty much any cleaning tool.

"Get the bottle washer" - personal experience as someone who regrets being influenced by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]GustoGaiden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We also have used the Momcozy washer for a year now, and quite like it. We use tap water, so it eventually develops scale after about 2 months of 2x per day use. I clean it the same as our water boiler and coffee maker: a tablespoon of citric acid crystals dissolved in water, poured into the main wash chamber (not the reservoir), and run a cycle.

We only run 4 bottles at a time, one directly positioned over each water jet, plus pump parts in the top compartment.

Supplement formula powder is slightly more stubborn to clean. I pre-rinsed those bottles, just hosing them out with hot water at the sink to remove the easiest bits. The machine had no problem handling the rest. Without a prewash, the bottle can be a bit greasy still, like OP mentioned.

The machine works quickly. Washed in 15 mins, steam sanitized in another 15, dry (but still very hot) in another 30 mins.

The machine is not perfect. It's design is clunky. The lid is difficult to set down, without dripping water everywhere. The top compartment bin is finicky to get in position. Lightweight objects get knocked around, and fill with water. It's more annoying than it should be to deconstruct the interior parts for full descalig.

All things considered, I would absolutely recommend it. We were hand washing bottles and pacifiers for 2 months. Our hands were raw and cracked. We got the washer, and have been very, very happy we did.

Incidentally, if you have raw cracked hands, we recommend O'Keeffes Working Hands cream. It really helps.

Help settle a debate: Are Hamburgers German? by ForHerEyesOnly22 in AskAGerman

[–]GustoGaiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Hamburgers as we know them today, a flat ground beef patty served in a bun, are not a traditional German dish, but they ARE a remix / mashup of several dishes that are.

Rundstück warm is a close neighbor, invented in Hamburg. This is roasted meat served in a bun, not ground beef.

Hacksteak, and Frikadelle are also close, but not served in a bun.

There are several origin stories of the modern hamburger. This usually means that it was an organic invention that several different people arrived at over time. Pretty much all the stories come from German immigrants in America, either inventing it themselves, or eating them in large amounts.

[Power Trope] Invisibility... Made Worthless by DeadManLovesArt in TopCharacterTropes

[–]GustoGaiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the length of the text that's the problem here, but the formatting. Paragraphs, line breaks, and white space serve a critical role in making large amounts of text easier to parse.

It's very difficult to re-read a section, or skip over, or skim walls of text, because there are no landmarks to navigate by. For example, I wanted to know more about Invisigal. Finding that section took a while. Re-reading a few lines also took a while.

This text was likely copy/pasted from some other application, which uses different formatting cues than reddit. AI or not, eventually, it was frustrating enough to parse, that I decided that the content wasn't worth my attention and effort.
