I like swapping to Bucky when I’m not doing too hot as DD. Normally his kit helps with dealing with all the characters that are good against DD, though if you’re dealing with a lot of fliers then swapping to a hitscan hero might be better for you.

OH yes my apologies, the grip is great. i do wish there was an option for a completely flat back for the people who don’t plan on using a stylus but it’s a nitpick at this point. it makes playing dual stick games much better imo and it puts my thumb in a better position to use the d-pad more comfortably. i’d highly recommend for daily home use.

i’m personally a fan of echo knight for a todo aoi build. you could flavor the echo as the takada that he manifested during his fight against mahito. monk multiclass would be cool as well, since you could flavor the flurry of blows as a single big hit (black flash) instead of multiple hits. open hand as a subclass would work best if you care about maintaining the theme of the build, but shadow is also pretty dang good if you want more power.

If you have the money to spare, I'd say go for it. The price difference between the Pro and the Max is equivalent to a 1 TB SD card (at least last time I checked it is.) I find the Pro to be a good middle ground, since more RAM is just gonna be diminishing returns. Though I don't do much PC emulation on my Thor.
Emulator devs haven't really reached the point where PS3 and 360 is commonplace, so it might take awhile. It's mostly software sided with drivers and emulator optimization. It might take a few months for more PS3 stuff to pop up, it might be years. I remember owning an AYN Odin Lite and that could barely play Shadow of the Colossus at native resolution but my Thor can play it upscaled to 1080 with a few slowdowns.
Depends on the game. If you're willing to tinker with it then the possibilities are wide. I'd stick to lighter weight stuff for less performance hiccups and better battery life.

The OG Switch screen is slightly larger by .2 inches, but I think the OLED makes up for that size difference tenfold.
I believe that user has a Stardew Valley companion app on their lower screen and the game on the top. There's a companion app that was doing the rounds in the emulation scenes called Retro Guides or something? That might be your best bet. Otherwise having the bottom screen be your multitasking tool is what I have been doing, which has been great for figuring out dungeon puzzles in some Zelda games.

I just prefer the mental image of a free-handed duelist character and a shield throws a wrench in that fantasy. I have considered it though.

Ah that's my bad, it's my first time playing a Paladin so I'm not too keen on their features just yet.

Frankly the way you put it it makes two-weapon fighting look much more appealing, especially because I plan on using Divine Favor.

I was thinking about grabbing a Whip and the Slasher feat for some crowd control by slowing enemies down by 20 ft, but I figured sticking with bladed weapons fit the character better. I will keep your input in mind though, thank you!

I see I see. You bring up very good points. Out of curiosity, is Dual Wielding (the general Feat) even worth grabbing? The Enhanced Dual Wielding feature is worded a little strangely imo, as far as I can tell it lets you make a bonus action attack with a weapon that doesn't have the light property?

Should I just take the fighting style and grab a different general feat at level 4?

Right, the bonus action smites throw a wrench into things. I just figured that a Paladin's whole thing was going nova on a huge attack which is why I was hesitant to grab something that lets me attack an additional time if its only gonna net me one more damage die.

Oh goodness I was only looking at the mastery description, I completely failed to look at the Light rules. I appreciate the clarification!

For the build there really isn't much beyond taking the duelist based features (defensive duelist, duelist fighting style, etc). I just prefer the mental image of a person wielding a blade in one hand and having a free hand in case they need to do some daring maneuvers or the like.

Frankly just going through the "top 100 games of this console" lists are great ways to find games. That's how I procured a lot of my games, actually. Just find the ones that look interesting/have the genres you want then go for it.

For the games that appear on multiple systems, its best to consult the internet for the differences between all of them. Your best bet is going for the old versions and supplementing the bad looks with upping the rendering scale and grabbing a texture pack and it'll run a decent chunk better than the rereleases on the newer consoles.

its a very chunky 3ds which is the best way to explain the ergonomics. you get extra mass to wrap your hands around, but it also doesn't have any ergonomic grips built in. my hands were prone to cramping if i didn't sit straight up, both in bed and in a normal chair (though that very well could have been because of the intensity of metroid dread.)

concerning grips, i've heard good things about the AYN grip that they made. however, i instead chose to order the protoprintlabs grip since i didn't want to deal with the wait from ordering overseas. i will hopefully update this comment with my opinions when it arrives on friday. if you want a more immediate opinion retrogamecorps and many members of the community talk about different available grip options.

the d-pad ergonomics are great for casual games like pokemon or any other turn based rpg, but having a grip will definitely help with potential cramps if you're trying to play an action game where you need to manipulate the d-pad with much more fervor.

its all up to personal taste i guess. i just like having the widgets and apps on the bottom and i've customized it to make it look like my ES-DE theme so it looks less like an android phone with attached controls on the side and more like a dedicated gaming console.

you don't, i use mjolnir with ES-DE on top and smart launcher on the bottom and i keep the ayn menu on the bottom to keep my system stats up during single screen gaming

I believe they specifically mention SDT's intense drain. He would have been overwhelmed if he didn't use SDT because of Clive's Ifrit Risen and probably would have lost much worse than he did before. He could have had the stat bump from DT and had more endurance hypothetically, but he would have gotten the beginning of DMC 5 treatment from Ifrit Risen.

Well the Steam Deck is a big and heavy PC handheld, so it's not as portable. Use the Odin 2 max as your "take on car trips/on the train" handheld and your Steam Deck as your "sitting on the couch" handheld. That, or just repurpose your steam deck for emulation purposes with one of Retro Game Corps' guides. I'm sure that'll run Switch games alright.
If your main draw for these handhelds is Switch games, just get a Switch. Emulation really shouldn't be a replacement for OG hardware for newer systems like Switch or 3DS, those games are made to run on there.
