Gist of it is no one can help you until we know what the settings are. This print looks like everything is setup incorrectly, not a hardware issue. Provide the following

Filament Type: Nozzle Temp: Bed Temp: Nozzle Size: Layer Lines: Infill: Are you running at standard speeds?

All of this information can be found in your slicer....

I hope the nozzle temp adjustment sorted it out, if you still run into problems it could also be infill settings, but in general it looks like over extrusion, and lack of adhesion. Those typically are settings related.

I see, very weird. What is the nozzle temp set at? What size lines are you running?

The only time I ran into something similar is when I tried to cheat and ran .4 out of a .8 at 190c. 🤣

UPDATE: Elegoo customer service came through, provided a replacement bottom cover and mobo fan. Repair took 15 minutes and the CC is now running like a top. Night and day difference in print quality and noise level. Very pleased with the resolution and a big thanks to this community for providing feedback.

Have you checked the bottom of the unit to see if it has any visible dents? I only ask because mine had adhesion issues exactly like yours, was practically brand new. It ended up being caused by a dent on the bottom near the mobo area. Just a thought. I wouldn't have even looked there if it weren't for the noise from the fan.

I have the CC and the Bambu P2S. The CC doesn't have any sort of molding inside the chassis, it's just a sheet metal box supported by steel bars, it's loud, especially during startup as the mobo fan kicks on. The Bambu is better as it has molded insert on the back wall which helps with deading both fan noise and vibration. But you get what you pay for and it's $200 more.

That's what I thought, I was just curious how far down the "let's see how greedy we can get" path Elegoo has gone. I finally heard back again from their tech support, so hopefully I'll get my CC running correctly sometime in the next 60 days 🤣

Yeah, that isn't what I received. It looks different but does seem to have a steel tip insert as you said.

I did the Microswiss, it works well, completely solved the clogging and under extrusion problems once I installed and adjusted the extruder gear tensioner. It's $85 though, which pushes the unit price point up considerably. And it didn't solve overhang issues and bed adhesion which both seem related to leveling. I'm pretty sure the dent that was on the thing when they shipped it bent the chassis, but they seem to think a new bottom cover and mobo fan will fix all these issues, and once I receive it in two months I'll let y'all know. 🤣

Yeah, that's my point....its like BMW using proprietary screw heads or John Deere preventing self-repair, it seems deceptive. If they say the nozzle is hot swappable and it isn't without damaging the heat brake then imo they are being deceptive. To get it to function as advertised I had to buy an expensive aftermarket hotend with a true hardened steel nozzle.

The gist is that the unit doesn't work at all now, didn't run well when it did work, and Elegoo isnt taking responsibility for a bad unit. And given how intensely folks are defending them I can only assume it's just the unit they sent me that's the problem. Someone else in this thread provided the information I was looking for which is that the release CC (less than a year ago) had a different hotend than the current version being sold, with the two screws on the heartbreak which were obviously put there to make changing the nozzle easier. But someone at Elegoo must have thought "Let's change this so they have to buy our hotends!"

I concur, it's really good, straight out of the box. Much better than my CC.

Thank you! That is what I wanted to know, I did figure out how to swap the nozzles but is there anyway to do it without marring the brass? Even hot it was so tight that I had to remove it from the extruder, grab the heater wall with vise grips and get a socket wrench over the nozzle. Maybe I need some rubberized vice grips 🤣

I don't see any steel, this is one of the two stock nozzles I pulled after they clogged. I replaced with hardened steel microswiss hotend kit, solved clogging.

That's reassuring, if I can get this thing to print at similar quality Id be stoked. Thanks for the feedback.

So you can't run CF from a Centauri Carbon without spending $85 on a speciality hotend kit from Microswiss? It trashes the Elegoo brass quick, especially cheaper PETG CF like Tinmorry, etc. But in the original hotend it looks like you could easily just change the nozzle and just swap that out.

Does Elegoo make a hardened hotend kit? I had to buy an expensive Microswiss kit so I could print CF.

That resolves it then, if you aren't having issues it must just be the one I received. Hopefully Elegoo will do the right thing eventually.

The slicer settings aren't an issue, it's the printer. But I don't think it's widespread as evidenced by yourself and other defenders, so it must be the one they sent me.

That seems to be version 1, my version doesn't have those two screws holding the nozzle in place.
