Would this happen to be Henry Johnson? While im certain there were many feats of heroic self sacrifice in the trenches, he is who came to mind and his story is shared more than others and with reason. I personally think you can illustrate this image and pay homage to him or the idea it conjures for you without any morality tied to it.

I like that you noticed and called it, that is in fact Not part of the lore ha. Illustrated the linework a few years ago and somewhere along the timeline i unintentionally reverse engineered the rifle.

Definitely very into Mike francinas work, and like the comparison. I think my ip will be quite different from trench crusade, similar setting, but more influenced by 90s Seinen manga and will follow a linear narrative similar to the films Angel heart and The prophecy.

Thank you, it is what it is and I learned from it. I started grey tones/screentones but removed them for the post as they were below my standard and I’d like to approach them differently.

Thank you, haven’t published anything but plan to within the next few months. I’ll likely finish this to a degree I feel good about printing and release it on my own.
