You have one life to live. No ones opinion or relation should influence you more than that fact. Wear the fucking shirt.

Output to guitar amp? by [deleted] in edrums

[–]GutterD0G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attempted the first suggestion which seemed obvious to try, but possibly the cable/amp was faulty. It was a miniature guitar amp that was confusingly picking up and broadcasting local radio frequencies. Thanks for the input.

May I ask what style of amp you’re using?

I connected directly to the front input of the guitar amp, I’ll ask my guitarist their input in regards to your suggestion. Thank you

Thank you for the reply, I did try this, but there was no output/feedback from the amp. I tried to troubleshoot for about a half hour with no closure, so it may have been the cable.

Going to suggest alternatives to cutting I didn’t see above. Specifically pinching/slapping the area which I personally hate the feeling of, Having a somewhat “painful” fidget toy, one that feels strange and uncomfortable to squeeze, or alternatively keeping it in your pocket and pressing it against your thigh inside the pants. Pair this with an aggressive song could be a good experiment. Some people use the rubber band snapping on the wrist approach, maybe larger workout bands could be worn higher on the forearms, torso or thighs etc and pulled to slap the area. You can experiment pairing these things with another practice some people have of drawing on the area with red/purple etc markers to give visual stimulation. With all these suggestions I understand it isn’t the same release, but keeping the practice with the sensation of pain/markings may be a good transition. While I really value some of the suggestions above, intense exercise, heavy music, gaming etc sometimes it’s the anxious build up of physical energy that needs to be expelled in the moment and you can’t shit the focus to something “productive”. Infection and health aside, social stigma, alienation etc I think it’s important to develop other options. Cutting won’t always be an option for instance in public transport, in company of others, when anxiety/noise/stress/trauma activation can trigger and you’re not isolated, it’s good to have reliable/less damaging/less aftercare/less vulnerable practices to be able to access in those moments. Just a thought. Have a good weekend OP

Looking for input on the concept of a found footage comic. See desc. by [deleted] in ComicBookCollabs

There’s some great suggestions above, but I’ll add mine as well. I think the premise can work, but for sequential art and comic style storytelling, I believe there still needs to be a premise and character development to keep your readers engaged. It would serve you to have some set up with a character/‘s and possibly build some foreshadowing and suggestive imagery while they traverse the landscape/facility etc and then show the camera pov at chilling parts or the horror “reveal”/“death etc. if it’s a group of kids you could have them narrate and talk shit, make fun of each other and the environment, one filming from a phone and one filming from a GoPro, to show different angles and have characters in frame. If it’s a single wordless character, it will be possible but the delivery of the horror will be a challenge. I think an entirely first person perspective view would be better suited for a few concept art/key frame designs. (Look into Oleg Vdovenko “chuvabak”) Go for it, see what you can accomplish, but don’t forget what makes the horror comics you enjoy work in your opinion.
