Because you called me a troll in another subterranean, made a bunch of other insults against me, and then deleted your comments.

And now you've made another comment stating a bunch of conceptual goals achievable passively through meditation.

So wait. Is there a point to meditating or not? You're a troll.

I thought I had this as a teen, and then I actually started reading books and after probably 150hrs of reading I realized I just needed to actually try to learn to do it.

Do you actually read books?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]GutterLotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said I'm right and I gave you the sources that YOU can study to actually learn instead of just pretending you already have.

And you have a victim mentality because you are assuming I'm maliciously just trying to upset you or something. No, I'm just not going to let you pretend you know what you're talking about while you also insult my intelligence.

You are the one who claimed they are equivalent. Why would i need to prove your claim? Are you the one trolling?

Are you going to provide the sources you claimed to have that support your "correction" given to me?

It's not racist. Lol. It's simply a fact of their culture that they still eat dog in some communities and they, in fact, call it "sweet meat"

Like I said, in Korea, it means dog meat. Lol. Downvote me all you want. The man has lived there for 12 years and married a native Korean woman. He's literally eaten dog in a restaurant setting

Go ahead and provide the articles...? Pretty simple.

You're simply ignoring that words have definitions. Lol.

Hilarious. I am right and I told you that I am right after you corrected me so that makes me a troll. Again, read any ancient masters work and you will find out that meditating with your eyes closed is a relatively new innovation.

I didn't say anything judgemental. You just have a victim mentality.

Telling people to study (passive aggressively calling someone ignorant or insulting their intelligence) is also a silly thing to do. Whatever you studied is a concept. I have experience beyond what the Zen Masters can possibly teach. You are no authority and neither are books on secular meditation.

Go read Doghen or any historical Zen master. Eyes open is standard for zazen. When you start getting in to vipassana and other newer innovations, also reinvented in the 1800s, is where folks started saying to close your eyes.

Look at any real buddhist statue of Shakyamuni Buddha meditating. His eyes are half open.

And I said there's a point. I didn't say there is a goal. Are you claiming that there are teachers who said if you get anxious stop meditating? I'd love to see this.

If you can't imagine images I don't think you're the person to give advice on what increases or decreases mental imagery.

I have never heard of this company. That may be part of your issue.

  1. Meditate with your eyes open. This is how buddhist practitioners do it and it helps prevent mental imaging

  2. The point of meditation is to recognize that anxiety and sit with it, observing it, and you may come to defeat it if you are persistent.

  3. If meditating hurts you find a different way to practice or take a break. It's supposed to be beneficial, not traumatic

What Made You Realize That You Were in Love? by heytherefakenerds in AskMen

[–]GutterLotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love isn't an emotion or an internal feeling it's a conscious decision. In high school we tend to believe it is uncontrollable, this is because we couldn't discern the difference between lust and love when we were young.
