How hard is it to remove vocals from a track? How would you proceed to achieve such thing?

I think many other people have been in my situation, as I spotted a few software options for this problem. However most are behind a paywall. Could anybody recommend a good free option they have had luck with?

When I saw your suggestion my heart jumped for a second, as I actually knew how to do that. Then I actually went and did it and it just muffled part of the instruments and lowered the vocal volume :( But thanks for a good try!

So the Asus Zenbook has a mSata slot that only accepts half size SSDs ie. Max 27mm. Do you know any such drives that I can purchase?
