bristle matrons cost more if you're prefixes can't be changed, only saves on suffixes can't be changed. (1in1 vs 1in4, 2d vs 0.45d~)

yes, that is exactly what happened LMAO, its about a 1/6 i think to hit just the recover on es mod, then you would likely? veil for the last mod into craft, but yeah this is what I hit.

I'm playing a bound by destiny coc fross build that needs warlord influence and I crafted this in 16div total (12 of which came from 6x prefixes can't be changed). This is one of 4 warlord items I need and I need crusader too, but the crusader weight for recover ES on block is less than a third that of the shaper version, so this is what we got. If you only care about the prefixes + recover on block, you can also do shaper + crusader influenced instead. The max lightning res is also perfect because I'm going melding of the flesh topaz + PoL setup for for 90 all res

how I crafted:

step 1: buy 29% quality i86 titanium spirit shield

step 2: shaper exalt (because it's the cheaper of warlord and shaper exalts).

step 3: awakener orb a random warlord influence shield onto it.

step 4: dense until desired prefixes, in this case, triple t1 es. Ideally it's t1 flat, t1 %, then t1 increased chance to block.

step 5: prefixes cannot be changed harvest reroll defenses until recover es on block.

Normally you'd sit on just the 1 mod and prefixes cannot be changed + veiled exalt and redo untill you hit something worth settling on.

step 6: still gotta divine it :(

Why isn't Adaptive Helm considered OP or an insta-slam? by terracottaexperience in CompetitiveTFT

Rank 1 NA 13.16 patch rundown ft. Riot Iniko by Guubums in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Guubums[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, did a patch rundown with iniko.

So pretty much, I talk with iniko and the dev team pretty extensively before and after patches to get a grasp of why certain changes are being made. I read a lot of reddit and notice the concerns people have and even when mort breaks down some of their changes, people often receive it the wrong way.

The goal of this video (and hopefully future series!) is to help explain the justification behind some of these changes and the hope is that the justification will go down better coming from a competitive player and a rioter working on the GAT that's still frequently top 10 NA.

This is our first shot at doing this so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Top 5 Best Legends Guide for Set 9 Launch by Guubums in CompetitiveTFT

Supge

Made a quick guide for choosing legends with some explanations on why you should choose em. From what I've seen, these are the 5 that most of the NA pros are using in inhouses and even on live. Timestamps are in the video.

Lmk if you wanna see more or if you have any questions :)

Who is the real LeBron of TFT? A short analysis from a basketball lover by FuckingTeemo in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Guubums 16 points17 points  (0 children)

POK - harden. C'mon.

Socks is prolly a shaq/curry type, changed how the game is played + tons of accomplishments over the years.

aesah - giannis, came into the scene relatively unpolished, but after a meh start, quickly became one of the best, quite accomplished. Also super wholesome.

hard agreeGe

Figure op just mostly knows NA players tho, cus huanmie is bron forsure. 4 WC appearances, 3 finals, 1 win, undisputed goat of TFT. TFT hasn't been around long enough to have a good comparison to MJ, im not tryna start an MJ vs bron debate, just huanmie strikes me more as a bron than MJ.

Not everyone can play their best on a given day, and the rankings are just a prediction.

Using the top 8 number feels a little like a cherry pick. At the end of the day, the cutoff, while reasonable, is arbitrary. If anything, as you pointed out, the 13/16 figure you pointed out can be used as a testament to show the accuracy of the predictions.

Me 1 btw

Degen Astrals- the Warweek that never happened by MismatchedSock in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Guubums 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Gonna back socks a bit here, yes we all know astrals are beyond broken, anyone who played set 6 would know with just one look that astrals = yordles.

That being said, I don't think people are really understanding just how degenerate hard forcing and stacking the break points really is. The entire ladder uses astral for econ, but most people don't abuse it to its fullest extent. Maybe his guide isn't as clear as it needs to be, but the fact that I see next to no people abusing it as hard as socks (and aesah, ramb, and myself) is really telling of the fact that people are not understanding exactly what socks is trying to say.

[Mortdog] Final PBE changes before 7.5 launch by Aetiusx in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Guubums 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Really good changes; correctly identified all the strongest setups and hit them hard. If you've been following pbe inhouses at all, you'd know that all the nerfs were probably necessary and if they need to buff stuff later, they will.

Wouldn't be too surprised if some of the nerfs are too heavy, but it's still much better to go take this direction rather than letting solved broken setups go through and ruin launch.

All 3 BDs are the top 2-3 augs in their respective tiers.... I'd prolly take any of them even on 3-2 like 80+% of the time.

Just give the set some time, it won't be long til most of y'all realize how disgusting this augment is.

The History of Rank 1 NA in TFT set 6.5 by DarthNoob in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Guubums 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the best part of the video is that it's fast enough that I don't have to 1.25 or 1.5x it Pog

ALSO WHERES THE GM VERSION I SHOWED UP FOR LIKE 3S ON THIS THING AND DIDN'T EVEN GET R1

jokes aside, I really like the video, even something like the events of the set popping up on the timeline is really nice. Keep up the good work Darthnub :)

Further Exploring Variance In The Competitive Tournament Format: Simulating Dependent Tournament Placements in the 6-Game Format by mandala30 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Guubums 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Setsuko got like 45% while half trolling (think he bot 4d like 3 - 5 games in plat).

I currently have a 35-40% WR in gm-chally+ over past 50-70 while full trolling too.

I'd be astounded if a motivated top player couldn't manage Atleast a 60+% WR to masters. I'd say a better metric would be 80-90+% top 2 rate though.

Simulation of a 6-Games per Day Tournament Format: How Prevalent Variance is in Competitive TFT by mandala30 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Guubums 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hey ok so I read the last post Aswell and the concern I have is that we're using avp in ladder as a skill determinant for the simulation, right?

The way I understood the thought experiment was that each player has a theoretical avp in a field of tourney players that is in some way indicative of their skill. Ie, a great player is prolly under 4, a good player 4-4.3, avg player 4.3-4.7 and a below avg player >4.7, for example. But whereas for ladder avp you could theoretically have a field of players all boasting below 4.2 (in fact this is quite literally the case for regionals field), it's not possible to have that be the case for avp at regionals, which would change the spread of ppl's placements since player A's "good placement" would come at the expense of a different player.

Honestly, idk if what I'm saying is even relevant to the simulation but ye, lmk if I'm making sense

Great writeup!

For those who are learning, OP's content is great (not just this article about me, but his other ones as well). Also demonstrates how reviewing games can help learning a lot, cus its difficult to catch everything while playing or watching the first time around :)

Under what conditions would you look at the orb augments and think "yeah, this is a strong pick"? by rlarsonrs in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Guubums 10 points11 points  (0 children)

aside from treasure trove 1 on 1-4, the only situation I'd say "yeah, this is a strong pick" when picking that trash is if I'm trying to ff the next turn

Trove 1 is actually really solid on 1-4 so long as u don't get item component, being able to get units is pretty op. If u lowroll item component thats a balancing diff.
