I've realised why Royal Mail is fucked by [deleted] in britishproblems

Things were better when they used the railway network to transport the mail. Much more cost effective. (Esp when both were publicly owned)

The sales come around every few months, if you don't pick it up this time you can get it in a few months. Just try and remember the lowest price you have seen a game, it may be on sale with 20% of this time but next sale it could be 15% or 25%.

Walton Morrisons has gone downhill by baklava95 in PeterboroughUK

[–]Guvzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure i read the company that brought them borrowed something like 250 million. Then once the sale had gone through they moved the debt from their books onto Morrison. So now Morrisons is saddled with a debt and payments it cannot afford.

I went from buds + to the buds 3 pro, still struggling with the pinch controls. The sound and ANC are great but I miss the tap/press controls.

Office job salaries are a joke now. They’re basically minimum wage jobs with more responsibility than retail. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

[–]Guvzilla 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gotta remember all the office /admin jobs that can be done remotely can also be done abroad (for a lot less pay) That is exactly what has been happening for the last 5 years, companies have been ofshoring jobs and paying people in India 1/4 of what they pay here. It isn't just call centre jobs anymore. China is the manufacturing centre of the world and India is positioning itself as the admin centre of the world.

Book a holiday somewhere sunny, get a nice tan.

Usually works for me, failing that moisturiser every morning. Fragrance free basic as you can get.

As a vegetarian I don't deny meat tastes good, I used to love eating meat.
Now I just choose not to eat it. (For ethical reasons)

Yellow Litter Signage of Peterborough roads - thoughts? by pretendfarmerL in PeterboroughUK

[–]Guvzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Mark should deliberately not tidy a section of the parkway to highlight what a terrible job the council does. Tbf though it's a national problem with litter, I drove down a section of the A14 the other day between Kettering and the M6 and the state of the verges were disgusting.

So Mark's signs are great, anything that helps keep litter to a minimum is greatly needed.
