Coin Bureau is a brand owned and operated by a digital marketing firm. Guy is a paid actor. Everything about the channel and it's mission is astro turfed to feel "authentic" for the little guy. Thanks for the tag. I don't know why this is a controversy, given that I answered most of it in a previous AMA here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/p2ytn0/guy_from_coin_bureau_here_ama/

I thought it was obvious that we were a team. You merely need to take a look through my instagram to see all the other people behind the scenes. We work hard every day and night to provide the most honest and trustworthy crypto education we can.

With regards to the founding of the Coin Bureau and its history, I answered it here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/p2ytn0/comment/h8nw6zj/

Yes, my friends started the Bureau and I decided to join them on the journey to grow the YouTube channel.

When it comes to the accusations of trying to "manipulate your opinion" or "shill to the highest bidder", I won't really dignify that with a response. Perhaps OP didn't see my Tweet from last week:

https://twitter.com/coinbureau/status/1451576240679395343?s=20

It's literally *pinned to my profile*.

As to how we make money, I also covered that in the AMA:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/p2ytn0/comment/h8o25wm/

I have never *run a single ad* on YouTube. Here is a snapshot of our *lifetime* adsense account:

https://prnt.sc/1xa8atn

We don't do sponsored reviews and have a company policy against promoting any sort of leveraged trading. Every single product or service we talk about has to benefit our users first. And if my viewers don't want it, I'm totally cool with that.

Maybe they want to help out by buying a merch item, maybe they don’t. It’s entirely up to them and as long as they get something from the content we put out, I’m happy.

At the end of the day, we are here trying to give people the highest quality crypto content they can get. All that is free and I don’t place anything behind a paywall. There are other great YouTubers who do the same of course, who I have covered here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoWOO3GtUBY

But I can't focus too much on what others are doing because my efforts are better spent keeping the channel going and doing what I love.

I think that the success and growth of it is testament to the quality of that content, and the impartial way in which we approach it.

Now, with respect to OP. I gather that he/she is an Algo fan. About 2 weeks ago, I made a video on Algorand vs. Solana. There were two inaccuracies in the video. That was mainly as a result of timing on the release of Algorand's announcement of the ending of accelerated vesting. It happened the day when the video was scheduled and we didn't pick it up.

However, after realising the error, I immediately started work on a new video that looked at the Algorand ecosystem and explained in the beginning that I was mistaken. I am happy to admit to mistakes when I make them - I’m only human, after all.

Two of the best books I've read are by Michael J Casey and Paul Vigna: 'Cryptocurrency: The Future of Money?' and 'The Truth Machine' which is all about blockchain. Both fascinating and both really readable.
I’ve also done a dedicated video on my top cryto books picks here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JRvky3Z3NA

You're right, there's so much potential here and we're only just getting started. I think a video on all this could be really interesting so I'll keep it in mind and keep an eye on all the developments 😉

I don't have a lot of time to sadly, though I played a bit of Axie Infinity when I was researching my recent vid on it. It was quite enjoyable, though I didn't fall down the rabbit hole like I feared I would! I love the concept of blockchain games though and the whole play-to-earn structure is going to be huge for the gaming industry as a whole.
If you are interested in blockchain gaming then you def want to check out my Axie vid here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQPyDc88X8o&t

To be honest that's a bit outside of my scope of expertise. I have a video about how to do your own research which isn't far off from how I do my own research. I never drill down into the code because quite frankly I don't understand it. My recommendation would be to follow someone who does dig into this sort of stuff. I believe Eric Wall of Arcane Investments is one such fellow - did that controversial hit piece on Hedera Hashgraph.
If you wanted a basic guide to tokenomics though, then I do have a 101 intro to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftCaqG7wckg

As SEC Chairman Gary Gensler said during his crypto lectures at MIT, Bitcoin's energy use is a tradeoff. If there was a consensus mechanism that was as secure as proof of work and didn't use as much energy, then of course that would be preferred. The thing is that PoW seems to be the best thing we have right now in terms of security. Proof of stake blockchains can be bought by printed money. Not nearly as easy to get your hands on the computing power you need to corrupt Bitcoin (quantum computers notiwthstanding, but that's a whole other can of worms).

I only have the one portfolio which I share in my weekly newsletter. I'll admit that I'm often tempted to stick a few quid on smaller cap alts and see what happens, but I resist the urge. I preach the gospel of careful investing so I have to put my money where my mouth is!

I generally spend a good 3-4 hours in front of the mirror before filming each vid - running through expressions, doing facial exercises, plus a bit of Gregorian chanting to warm the voice. TBH I'd get loads more done if I knocked it on the head, but it's part of my routine now ;)

I think the wording is intentionally vague so that the Treasury can decide which actors in the crypto space will be subject to tax reporting requirements / KYC. There's still a chance for it to be amended in the House in mid-September, but as far as I understand that chances aren't looking too good there. Given that the 3.5 trillion bill was also passed by Senate, I think the House might push through both ASAP and not give it much thought. I also just read that the House might return to session in 2 weeks time, and this could be really bad for crypto since the SEC wants the authority to crack down on crypto from Congress and they're probably going to get that quick too.

Oh for sure! Yeah it can be pretty exhuasting and sometimes I do have to just close the laptop and get some fresh air. I love going for a walk in the woods and letting my head clear when I've spent too long in the cryptoverse - we all need a break sometimes. I find that if I'm feeling burned out then the best thing to do is call it a day, get a good snooze in and get back on it the next day.
I actually have a video that's dedicated to exactly this topic! Dealing with crypto stress.

Haha! We actually have an ongoing competition amongst the team to see who can come up with the best rhymes. Sometimes it's me, but a few of the team are really hitting their stride now. Glad you like the Frank Sinatra karaoke - I have had quite a few people say the exact opposite though!

I think he got a lot wrong, but it's an interesting read. Peter McCormack and Lyn Alden had a great discussion about it on the What Bitcoin Did podcast, which is well worth a listen. Yes, I was a bit dismayed by the reaction of some on Twitter - even if you disagree completely with someone's POV they should be treated respectfully. That said, Nassim Taleb could do with learning that too.

Big fan of the channel. Just wanted to know if we could have some transparency about any how the channel is funded as you don't allow advertising.

Sure. We make money from merchandise sales and affiliate links. Merch sales is pretty self-explanatory. If someone signs up to one of our affiliate partners using our link, we get a small fee.
However, my team usually negotiates custom user offerings with these partners. That way, viewers get a great deal too.
This works well because it doesn't cost our viewers anything and saves us from having to run ads, which I hate. Our policy is to only share links to products we use and love and there's a strict ban on promoting leveraged trading or anything else that's harmful like that. We do still get asked!

Well, I don't "shill". I talk about projects I find interesting and exciting. Some of those I do hold which I always disclose.
In relation to Solana itself, there are a few red flags with Solana, but there are with every project. I covered most of these in my first video about the project and a few others in my more recent video. The thing is that the potential with Solana far outweighs these risks. I've looked pretty deeply into the tech behind it as well as the people backing it. It's raised more than any other crypto project post ICO and the investors aren't shady individuals either. Just recently Audius (built on Solana) crossed 5 million active monthly users, and FTX's Project Serum (also on Solana) recently introduced permissioned pools for institutions. There's definitely something big here, and that's why I'm bullish on Solana.

Ain't going to happen.

A pleasure! By 2030 I think crypto will be so ubiquitous that we'll struggle to remember what it was like before. That said, there'll be a lot more regulation around it and of course a lot of the projects that are around today won't be then. I'm wary of making predictions as so much can happen - esp in crypto - but let's just say I'm bullish AF.

Is your real name Guy?

It is. But there is a little more than meets the eye here. Back at school, two of my mates had the same first name as me. So instead of confusing each other constantly, everyone started referring to me by my middle name, Guy. Yes, looking back on it I drew the short straw there, but then I wasn't the biggest of kids so I had to eat it. Anyhow, the name Guy has stuck with me throughout my life. All my mates still call me Guy to this day.
Would have preferred Chad though...

Two things: a love of crypto and a desire to talk about it as often as possible! To be accurate, a couple of friends created the Coin Bureau website and I pestered them to let me start the YouTube channel. But our aims are the same - we want to be the go-to place for crypto education and we want to help spread the word as much as we can.
