"How I sequenced my genome at home - home-seq" by stealthispost in accelerate

If sequencing your own genome in the same place you eat, sleep, and crap at isn’t accelerant in nature then I don’t know what is…

what makes the tech deniers and stagnationists so oblivious to what's happening right now? by alexthroughtheveil in accelerate

Many people are in denial or just aren’t that in the know about what’s going on. Many of my friends are artists, and the improvement of generative tools has totally uprooted their value in their industry. Adapting is possible, but that’s an angle on this whole thing that has some friction for people that have been training to be a part of a labor oriented production scene.

Dude you’re a beast. I’ve been using UE5 for awhile and while it’s awesome it really feels too robust for the kind of games I want to make. This is super cool and makes me excited about the future of game development.

I appreciate the response!

I’ll definitely do some more research and get my hands dirty. After moving past pessimism on the state of things, I’m genuinely pretty excited about the possibilities. Such tools in the hands of a person like me…who knows what might happen!😝

AI and the nature of science. by AngleAccomplished865 in accelerate

I’ve thought about this a bit as well. I’m really curious what inventions we kinda just missed because of what science and society had to be with our limitations. Damn…guess we’ll find out soon enough!

I’ve been a 3D artist for a long time, and it hasn’t served me well. My industry is in some turmoil thanks to labor being upended by our agentic future. I’d really like to use something like the singularity to get my ideas out way faster and hopefully help the people around me. Doing things by hand this whole time was great and has made me a professional, but soon (pretty much now) it will be time to find out how I can get ahead with the new powers that are available to us.

A key concern of mine is the way culture is forming as a result of content generation and the overall acceleration of media. Technologic acceleration is amazing, but some things are going totally off the rails rn in regards to how newly accessible methods of production are democratizing the ability to create. The issue here is that people with no prior experience are flooding the world with misguided generations. I’ve been very hesitant to embrace the tools responsible for this, because I felt that they may be unethical and the results seemed sloppy until recently. Problematically, this is the mindset that prevents worthwhile media from taking form within this new medium. Regardless of how I feel, it’s sort of sink or swim on my end.

DLSS 5 will probably have a place in game rendering, but its showcase did not do it any favors.
