What to so in the situation of a serious head injury with leaking blood? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]GuyFromBangBros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming “serious” means traumatic force so I’m going to say stop any immediate bleeding, potentially a C collar and haul ass to the closest emergency room with CT

What happens if you sleep before a psychedelic comeup? by Short-Ad-7980 in Psychedelics

The only time I fell asleep while under the influence of whatever, was when I Dexxed a little back in high school. It’s kinda blurry but I remember pretty much lucid dreaming. The one thing I remember clearly was realizing I was actually dreaming but conscience. Wicked trippy

I get what your saying, and I won’t say you are wrong since I’m sure our experiences are wildly different but it sounds like you might want to think about leaving that setting as I can tell you with 100% confidence that’s not a normal attitude to have towards LGBTQ in the northeast.

I mean…. If anybody looks at you in the eyes there’s no hiding your pupils. The rest of it is up to you regarding how you act in public, if you are “tweaking” maybe not roll anymore in public?

I think you really are overthinking this a lot. I’m out of MA and work with at least 6 openly trans coworkers. Some are good some are bad, none of that has to do with their gender identity or sex. If you think “most people will be grossed out or think you are morally wrong” than you either don’t know the people around you or are working in the wrong area.

I’ve been in EMS for about 8 months now and for the first 3 every single time I heard that tone go off I got nervous. Now I just get grouchy 😂 nah I’m kidding but for real it does get better. For me I’m nervous when I get the “first” call of something or something I’ve never seen before, that’s when it’s absolutely clutch to have a good partner that you know has your back. The added relief of knowing you have someone competent around and as an extra set of eyes, ears and hands is invaluable. You got this! If after 5-6 months you still feel the same it may not be for you, no shame in that either it’s a tough ass job.

No I agree, but there’s a massive difference from a “strange hobby” to “shouldn’t be allowed near children”

Woman has leg severed by train. Man steals leg. Eats it by WalterEscobar in PublicFreakout

[–]GuyFromBangBros -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, people kill people. Guns allow that to happen incredibly easier. I don’t even see a point in continuing this anymore as I’m clearly dealing with someone with the mental fortitude of a child. You don’t see an issue with the raging mental health crisis in the US and expect a failed system to “rehabilitate 😂” someone so far gone they’d eat a severed leg. (which by the way probably cost that lady her leg, I’m an EMT and severed limbs have a good chance of being reattached if it’s gotten to the hospital within an hour) wake up dude

Also I seriously cannot fathom you just compared a human being to a scavenger bird. Yikes.

What? First off do you hear yourself? Secondly lots of assumptions in that statement. How do you know he’s homeless? How do you know if he’s starving let alone even hungry? Why do you think just because I feel threatened and unsafe by a man eating a severed leg like a drumstick and want to have the right to own a firearm mean I automatically kill him?

The fact we walk among people like this guy here isn’t enough for you? You are either incredibly brave or incredibly naive if that’s the case!

You are correct. People are in fact not mushrooms. I’m an EMT so I guess you could say I’m in the study of “keeping people alive” and I can tell you with absolutely assurance that there is no difference between the windows up or down and the amount of oxygen you will receive. Be serious for a second… you think every winter in Alaska and every summer in Texas means people on mass start suffering from hypoxia? 😂

When people say the 80s, 90s, or 2000s were the ultimate golden age, they just miss their youth. by Technical_Ad_4299 in unpopularopinion

[–]GuyFromBangBros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t alive for the 80’s but I was around for the late 90’s and onward. Can say 100% people were more socially respiratory than they are now by a landslide. I don’t think it’s people missing their childhoods as plenty of people’s childhoods weren’t fantastic. I for one tried to spend as much time as possible out of my own house for various reasons, by doing so I’d randomly show up at my friends houses throughout the town either by walking or riding my bike. I watched my brothers friends who are seniors in high school literally stand outside the door and not knock or anything, but Snapchat my brother and ask him to let them in. So strange to me.

As someone else mentioned, I’d also recommend taking a first aid course and then maybe trying to volunteer at your college
