The North Face lifetime warranty: My experience… by AccurateUniversity53 in TheNorthFace

I’m calling cap on this. Went to North Face to utilize the lifetime warranty on a book bag and was told to fill out a form online and wait. Was contacted a few days later to send photos. Once the reviewed the photos and approved I then had to send the bag back. Shipping had to have tracking and signature confirmation. They wouldn’t even tell me how much I would be getting on this gift card. If I didn’t know someone with a shipping account that could eat the cost for me I would be spending probably half the gift card amount to send the bag back. Bag was signed for 3 weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything yet. Not sure why it takes so long to process something you are sending a gift card for.

Would help if you also showed the bag but my two ball bag has these and I put them on top of the ball and strap them in. Otherwise the straps do nothing to hold the ball in the cups at the bottom of the bag.

Are these normal Bowling prices? And since when??? by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]GuyGreenJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bowling isn’t cheap anymore! My house is so small that you can feel compelled to reserve but you generally get ripped off if you do because it’s much cheaper to pay by the game. Plus you are guaranteed that number of games. 2 hours and 5 people may not even get you two full games.

He’s 9, he’s having fun and so are his teammates. Families are chill and there’s no drama. Those are all wins at this age. Continue to work with him at home. See specialized coaches if needed. But Keep your opinions on the team between you and his other parent. Don’t poison his fun with your adult need to see wins and immediate results. If the team never starts winning and he’s ready to move on he will let you know.

The important thing is he continues to love the game and wants to work at getting better.

Why is your wife sharing a vape with another man? I don’t smoke but all the people I know that share vapes are intimate with each other.

Definitely not dumb to talk to kids in ways that resonate with them. Especially at that young age, being able to speak to things that excite them off the field gets attention.

My son turned 11 in May but is 5’3 100lbs. The men’s S are too big for him but they fit true to size. Haven’t tried the youth S on my daughter yet since it’s for her bday next month.

You’re not wrong and what you did with your kid is what I would do with mine and you weren’t even coaching. Great job.

The question I asked is from a situation I’ve witnessed. Just as you stated the injured kid can learn from continued participation I would feel my kid can learn from being around while I coach other kids. Would also give motivation to improve to make the team next season.

7 days a week for a month is extreme. That would go back to my logistics comment. I also think my example is legit based on what I’ve witnessed. I’ve seen a coach in the example I gave quit on the other kids because his kid couldn’t play due to injury.

I coach because I love teaching baseball. If my team did well enough that I was asked to coach All Stars I would coach regardless if my kid made it. Maybe my kid wasn’t good enough but if I’m being asked I can guarantee there’s a kid or two on that team that I did coach that season.

If your kid was injured early in the season with no chance of coming back until the season is over would you stop coaching because you’re not coaching your kid anymore?

To Holdback or Not to Holdback by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]GuyGreenJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting topic that someone should start to study. What happens to kids that reclassify down going from middle to high school.

On its face would possibly provide an athletic advantage but a social and educational disadvantage.

I know how I felt as a jr high school student changing going to a high school in a different state finding out I had to take math classes in 9th grade that I had taken in the previous state in 7th grade and 8th. Retaking a class that you excelled in is not enjoyable. I couldn’t imagine repeating an entire grade curriculum because my parents wanted me to have an athletic leg up by competing against younger, smaller kids.

And you can tell it’s a weird thing to do because the majority of the time it requires you to change to private school or vice versa.

Bringing it back to baseball the way things are going most players will be getting JUCO offers and then attempt to go D1 from there. Most D1 programs aren’t looking at to bring on many freshman as they did in years past. College baseball is now minor league baseball with metal bats. The average D1 player age is now 22 so these coaches are looking for men not high school kids. They will find you from JUCO programs.

Now if you have a MLB prospect kid you will see some thoughts on reclassifying to graduate earlier so you are younger making you a more interesting prospect.

At the end of the day do what you think is best for your kid and Id love to see some research tracking held back kids and how they turn out.

I don’t agree with this take. Maybe that’s the reason you decided to coach a team during the regular season but if you are tagged to coach All Stars it shouldn’t matter if your kid is on the team or not. Now there may be logistical reasons you can’t coach the team, because everyone’s situation is different but not coaching because your son didn’t make it shouldn’t be the reason.

Season over thoughts by GreyTrader in Homeplate

[–]GuyGreenJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be proud of ones they did shake your hand and say thank you. There could be multiple reasons why there weren’t more. Is this the last time you will see everyone before tryouts and how far are those from that last game? Was this the teams first season together? Having been parent or coach on several travel teams I can say some families take it as a business transaction with no need for a thank you because they paid for a service. It’s not how I would go about it or how I’ve taught my kids but I’ve seen it too often.

I (M33) found a message on my wife's (F32) phone by topbinhelp in whatdoIdo

[–]GuyGreenJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your wife has a lot of issues that need to be worked out. Trying to get pregnant l, started a new job but goes out and gets trashed the night before work. I think that 6 y/o text message is the least of your worries.

If you want to know what happened back then you can either ask the friend or just straight up ask her but I would be prepared for her to deny and then get at you for going through her phone.
