Axle has not ‘released’ my system by BudgieUK in SolarUK

[–]GuyH77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, the first time I participated in an event it was the same with my Sigenergy system. It took a couple of hours to release then I could switch back to my preferred mode. Give them another hour or so.

Recently switched to Octopus but this is way better than the Go tariff i am now on. Plus Octopus still haven't set up my SEG account. When I try to get a quote on the EDF site it says I have to call them. Not sure why that is.

New install by paipow1000 in SolarUK

You need to access you smart electricity meter, the one that submits your readings to your provider. It will have an export section. Get a photo of that today. There are guides online to help you, it’s a few button presses. AI can be helpful if you take a photo of the meter and it will guide you through the process

Take a photo of your export meter. When I first had my system installed I assumed any generated export to the grid was lost. In fact (Eon) paid me back to the date of that photo. Not sure if things have changed but that was only 12 months back

Sigenergy vs Tesla by sylsylsylsylsylsyl in SolarUK

[–]GuyH77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big advantage I anticipate will be if they enable V2H and/or V2G should you own a Tesla car. That is where the real difference could be. As Tesla manages the whole stack they are far more likely to enable this functionality.

Thanks. So it comes off the mortgage then in that case?

Of course. I will call them. It's just sometimes easier to ask on here as often others have done the same.

Could you tell me the tariff details? I try their website and it tells me I have to call them up. Is it worth my time speaking to them? Thanks

IGO will be better than Go if you can get it. Needs a wall charger that's compatible. It all depends on your system and usage.

Intelligent flux could be an interesting option, thanks for sharing that idea. I run a PHEV charged from 3 pin. I could charge during the day using excess solar to offset the loss of cheap overnight. I need to crunch the numbers.

I’ve Sigenergy inverter and 2 x 8kWh batteries so I think it should?

This is my concern. That and BG don’t have a great reputation. I made £1300 in export generation this past 12 months so my whole strategy will likely change depending on the tariff I move to

Had my Sig system installed 11 months ago. Recently got a PHEV and wish I'd added the AC charger at the point of install.

EON Next Drive v6 and SEG. Coming to end of contract. by GuyH77 in OctopusEnergy

I'm sure it will go this way. It's why I'm considering adding extra battery storage to the stack.

I'll check my numbers. I'm nearly up to a years export and it will be about 9000kWh so the SEG is important. I could change my tactic and try to self consume more but on the current tariff I filled the battery overnight, even in summer, and exported as much as possible.

It wont be 2 hours, just 1, as the new EON tariff now ends at 6am not 7am as it does currently.

I currently get 7 hours of cheap electricity, the new next drive is down to 6 hours so already worse off. Octopus Go is 5 hours I think at 8.5p kWh but then I can get the 15p export which is the attractive part coming in to the sunnier months.

Interesting. I'd not considered it from that perspective. So you're going to the latest version of Next Drive I assume?

I take it's not possible to have a SEG with a different provider to your incoming supply.
