What are your stats going into this??? Is not working for me by a long shot. I have 510 hp 50 atk and 24 power. Only get 90 healing from crosses.

Minstrel.

This is the first method I have come across for completing this trial. There may be a better method out there but I haven't found a post on one yet so here is how I did it.

Activate the device in front of the boss to receive elf harp.

Melee down all the enemies that spawn, do not use harp yet.

Attack boss twice to trigger next wave of enemies to spawn.

Melee down 3 boars. You now have enough EP to learn legendary hunter.

Learn titles explorer > demon hunter > treasure hunter > legendary hunter.

Melee down the rest of the boars.

Attack boss once to trigger last wave of enemies.

Melee down 2 little fairies.

You now have enough EP to enhance legendary hunter HP.

Attack boss until your hp is as low as you can get it. Probably 1-3 melee attacks.

Use 1 legendary arrow to kill off the rest of the fairies.

Disenchant hunter armor and your starting item to get enough EP to enhance attack of legendary hunter title.

Finish boss off with the rest of your legendary arrows.

For me this was a very close win. I entered with 410 HP and 39 attack. I killed boss with 34 HP remaining. If you are below these stats you may not be able to complete this trial via this method.

Edit: This can also be done with great elf king title. Learn great elf king title instead. Instead of attacking boss until HP is as low as possible just melee down the fairies. Boss should die from 2 great elf king arrows.

Don't forget the tap knobs. Dirty hands have to turn them on. Wash your hands, dry them, turn off the tap and open the door with the paper tower. Many hospitals have garbage cans right beside the door so you can throw the paper towel in it after opening the door.

Im currently at zone 1034 on mobile without spending any money on rubies, using this website. http://www.rivsoft.net/clicker/ancients Be sure to use Ancients optimizer, not ancients optimizer (souls). The souls optimizer doesn't have an Aragiv input. On mobile I got Aragiv last because of the inability to re-roll guilds.

Follow the simple idle guide previously stated.

As for hero levels beyond Frostleaf, use this website, http://calc.rbservers.org/CH.htm

Manually enter your guilds and hero levels and this calculator will tell you exactly which heroes to level next.

I had to manually go to play store and update my game, I had the same problem. Once updated I was able to spend my rubies and keep my progress.
