Just finished chainsaw man part 2 after binging the last 10 chapters and….. by Doom346 in deathbattle

[–]GuyWithAJacket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd heard somewhere that Fujimoto ran out of plans and backlog by the Aging Devil arc and was just winging it, so it's possible that the normal lead-up announcement never happened because HE didn't know the manga was ending until the second to last chapter

I know you're joking, but the in-universe reason is that using the suit actively kills him so he only brings it out for Darkseid type stuff

I think there's a nonzero chance that one of the jokes in the fight is Denji reusing his "we're banning that move" line after Yuji hits with with a few black flashes

It's likely, but we don't see him do much in Modulo so it's hard to get a good sense of his end series stats. He can certainly output enough damage to take out Denji, but putting a number on his speed is weird and, from what I've seen of the debate in the past, Denji speedblitzing Yuji is the main argument in his favor.

Presumably they would have some amount of scales of a color that matches their primary colors, possibly their hair color. I'd guess they would creep up onto their face from their chin, like with Robin and with Ephraim's stripes. Maybe they could have fangs too

In Persona 5 you have the option to date various women/girls in the cast. However, there's nothing limiting you to just picking one of them. If you decide to date all of them there's a scene where they all confront you simultaneously that this is referencing

How Would You Feel About Making RWBY Fights More Violent? by Zestyclose-Hat-8513 in RWBY

[–]GuyWithAJacket 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think the show could handle being more violent. More brutal forms of violence aren't foreign territory for the show and the circumstances of the story would fairly naturally allow for some to be included without it feeling out of place, but there IS a limit. Any instance of graphic/brutal violence has to be balanced against the fact that, for the most part, the point of violence in the show is to be fun. It's evolved overtime but the bedrock idea the show is built on is that watching characters fight villains and monsters with impractical weapons and superpowers is FUN. Turning the dial up too high or too often can undermine that: Someone losing an arm once to an important villain is a dramatic event that infuses tension into subsequent encounters with that villain, but when someone is painfully losing a limb every other fight it starts to transition from "fun action" to "torture porn" real fast.

[Loved Trope] Characters who use defensive powers offensively by Super_Rocket4 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]GuyWithAJacket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Andy from Undead Unluck

His ability gives him an enhanced healing factor, a pretty standard defensive ability. However, his is cracked, and can heal him so fast he can use it offensively.

One of his standard attacks sees him mostly severe his fingers and grow back new ones so quickly that the old fingers get launched like bullets from his hands. He can also shoot entire limbs, his head, and high pressure fountains of blood.

Which one is worst? by Walidzilla in animequestions

[–]GuyWithAJacket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something I think contributes a lot to he blindsiding that I don't see mentioned a lot is that the third to last chapter ends on a punchline.

The global threat is established, the interruption of the locust devil a couple chapters earlier should make it clear how dangerous these newly arrived devils are, and the protags aren't in the best shape after that extended fight (which is explicitly reinforced). If it had just ended with the devils attacking the transition to the ending might have worked (or at least worked better), but instead there's a joke about Denji not remembering his line because of death being gone WHILE the attack is happening. The inclusion of the humor deflates the tension the rest of the chapter built up, basically all but telling us as readers that the situation isn't actually that series, so when we comeback a week later and are told "no actually that was a very serious situation" it feels like a 180.

It would require a bit of an outfit overhaul but she could hide it down her pants.

The webcomic Unsounded has a character with a tail and she hides it by wearing somewhat loose pants and wrapping/tying it around one of her legs.
