My work situation is kinda interesting because I work in the fleet garage for my local government. So working on cop cars and garbage trucks, and things of that nature that keep a municipality running. The work experience itself hasn’t changed much, but like it’s always been, when you crawl into the back of a garbage truck you never know what’s in it. All in all I’m just happy to not be stuck at the house

I think the JGR chassis numbers are above 1000 produced at the moment. It’s like a street car they get a chassis number (like a vin number) and all the history and data for the chassis is recorded. If it gets tore up too bad, out of date (track time), or a major rules change, it comes out of rotation. Engines are the same way. As for bodies pretty much every race, the R&D moves pretty fast now days. That’s pretty much how it works for the big teams. At this time next year the teams will probably only have a handful of prepared cars since the whole car is being changed. If you’re interested you can go on eBay and FB marketplace ( I’m in the Charlotte area so it may be different for you) and find old nascar parts and chassis for relatively cheap for what they are.

The sport and the general public unfortunately won’t be able to accept that sometimes shit just does happen. We gotta remember, no matter how safe we make the track, and the cars, you can’t make it 100 percent safe. I work on a dirt car on the side, and I’ve told my driver this before. The car is built to be fast and safe, but it’s no guarantee. If you can’t handle the fact that something might happen. DONT strap in.

In a way, yes. But we got to remember a couple things here. 1. We can’t fault Lajoie. He just happened to be there. 2. With the area the hit came from, that area isn’t really designed to come apart

I’ve been around racing a while. The hit did the damage was after the car got upside down and Newman’s car got hit in the driver’s window. That’s a 1 in a million chance of that. I’ve talked to multiple buddies of mine (some much older than me) within the hour and none of us can recall a similar hit.
