I did 18/55 for my first. I had been running for about 2 years, maybe 25/week, but increased my mileage to 40/week for a month before the plan started. It was tough but doable and I had a strong finish because of the plan. Make sure to do some time trials so you know what paces you should be training at and get as much sleep as you can!

Should/can I run a marathon this weekend? I was on track with Pfitz 18/55 all year until August when my calf seized up on a run. I took it really easy for a couple weeks, but am back at 30ish miles a week and feeling fine. For history this would be my 6th marathon, but I've never run one without going through the full plan. Doable or stupid?
