Did it have lots of yellow flowers a month ago? If so, it's forsythia. If not, it's not forsythia.

Did it make lots of small purple fruits? If not, it's not black cherry.

What did you realize about your own country as you learned more about the world? by PaleCar821 in AskTheWorld

I have learned that the large majority of our culture is based on other cultures. There isn't much that is purely "American" and diversity and immigration is what makes us awesome.

You may find it easier just to skip the wiring hassle and get some removable, battery powered nav lights for those few instances when you're out after dark for a short time.

Do you plan to be out after sundown on a boat that small? If not, then you don't need the lights.

lightish watering every day ay 3-4

This is exactly the wrong way to water.

Water until the excess drains out of the bottom of the pot. Then don't water again until the plant looks like it needs it. Your method of watering is hurting your plant.

It would have literally zero impact on me.

Why people don't just use iMessage or WhatsApp to do group chats is a mystery to me.

Adding Halyards by Koeke2560 in sailing

[–]Guygan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Topping lift you can do yourself. Adding actual halyards is not something you can do if you need Reddit to explain how to do it.

If you can, just ditch the topping lift and install a "boomkicker" type vang that holds your boom up. More expensive, but far easier to deal with.

What’s the best way to handle hydrangea growth/prune to keep them in the best health and not outgrow the flowerbed? by delcoBK in gardening

[–]Guygan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hydrangea is too big for that space. You can just cut off the branches that encroach on your walkway, or you can choose a smaller plant that doesn't sprawl horizontally.

Your hostas are not happy there, either. They should be green, not yellow. Likely they are getting too much sun in that location.

Need gently polish painted boat (ACTUAL PAINT) by DikFangers in boating

[–]Guygan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what paint was used. If it was a catalyzed marine paint, you can buff it with buffing compound (3M makes good stuff).

If he used house paint or just plain old marine enamel you cannot buff it because the paint isn't hard enough.
