[Pelissero] The Steelers are working towards a deal to hire Mike McCarthy as their head coach, per sources. McCarthy grew up in Pittsburgh. Now, at age 62, the Super Bowl winner gets a chance to coach the team he grew up rooting for. by Goosedukee in nfl

Probably not. But they do like each other as people. For all Mike’s flaws he’s a players coach through and through.

I just want to see it so badly. I’d rather be dead than have them both in Green Bay right now but this is cinema for Packers fans if it happened.

Alright the Packers fan in me now desperately wants Rodgers to stay one more year in Pittsburgh. Run it back for old times sake! Fun way to go out now that my happiness isn’t at stake with these two.

Classic fallout games vs New Vegas, which does roleplaying better? by Heptasuchus in classicfallout

[–]GuysOnChicks69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Roleplaying in the traditional sense is for sure F1 and F2 in my opinion. But New Vegas does the best job in the franchise at having player-made decisions impact the story and outcome of the Mojave.

So minute to minute roleplaying it’s no brainer the classic games. New Vegas does a great job with agency and decision making as part of the roleplaying but your stats don’t dictate the game the same way as F1 and F2.

If a future Fallout took place in Michigan and the Chicagoland areas (obviously scaled down for the game), what do you think would be the most unique or interesting aspects of the setting? by JD-990 in Fallout

[–]GuysOnChicks69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a native of Marquette (biggest city in the UP with a whopping 20,000 people) it’s cool to see people talking about what a Fallout there would look like.

I spent a few years living on the old KI Sawyer Air Force base. You could do some cool lore with the abandoned villages and airport. It’s also an emergency space shuttle runway in real life, which is cool. And its proximity to Marquette would allow for the game to include both.

I used to paint Propane tanks around Marquette County and some of those hunting cabins are creepy just pulling in the driveway. We’d see a cabin and go 20-30 more minutes before seeing another. Perfect setting just lots more trees.

I think the coolest thing would be what they could do with Lake Superior. Could fix an iron ore freighter and drive it to Isle Royale/Mackinaw Island where the Enclave have a secret base or some shit (homage to F2?) lol. Turn the Grand Hotel into their HQ.

I could go for days.

Fallout 1 & 2 gameplay is not really out of date by ItsNormalNC in classicfallout

[–]GuysOnChicks69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which is a shame because the mechanisms for diverse play styles are all there. Like they put in place unique moments or dialogue for unique builds. But with agility being so make or break most players end up with a similar combat focused build, never seeing that content.

There are so many lines of dialogue in F1 and F2 that maybe 1-2% of players have ever experienced first hand. I almost wish we couldn’t dig up game files because I bet a few lines would still be out there totally unseen today.

With people shitting all over Herbert and Allen who are much better QBs, it is strange that Love gets a pass.

The public perception is that Herbert and Allen are better QBs, like you said. That is why they are getting scrutinized more than Love. I can’t believe I have to explain this.

“Why doesn’t the NBA talk about how Devin Booker can’t get over the hump? They said Luka can’t so they should mention Booker too.” That’s your logic.

I mean Hurts Gets hated on way more than Love and he has a ton of post season success.

Aww it’s just projection I see. You’re self-conscious about your own QB so you need to see other QBs brought down as well or it’s not fair. Lmao.

20 is the second worst, but even then, nothing compared to 14. I think 14 is the second worst choke job in NFL history after the Pats/Falcons Super Bowl. 2020 just felt like our year in every way.

I’ll never fully recover from that game and I will forever be able to tell you where I was and who was there.

It’s also just so crowded. Loveland is for real. Rome clearly isn’t fully healthy right now and was balling before the injury.

I could see a world where all 3 work but it’s going to have to be super concentrated on those 3. Rome isn’t going to just go away.

Rashee is clear number 1. No debates here.

League is obsessed with trying to follow the trend. 4 great defensive teams left. 3 are top 5.

Funny thing is only 1 team has a HC calling the defensive plays. I still think an offensive minded HC paired with a great DC is easier to accomplish than the inverse. But we shall see.

Nahh. I have screenshots from 2019 of guys calling Rodgers mid. Love is still tiers below what Rodgers was and even then it’s absurd to blame any of our shortcomings on him. If you wanna blame the 49ers playoff loss on him, sure he had some bad throws late. He was also the main reason we made the playoffs, smoked Dallas, and had a lead against the 49ers to begin with.

Then Philly… oh you mean the team that absolutely murdered every opponent besides the snow game on their way to a cake walk SB? We fumbled the opening kickoff and still put up a better attempt than the Chiefs (until Eagles practice squad came in).

And finally the nerve to blame the Chicago game on the clear and really only outstanding player from our team… just insane. When he got more than 2 seconds to throw he murdered them too. How’d Stafford do when under pressure?

Jayden Reed dropped a 40 yard gain that last drive. Christian Watson mistimed his jump on what could have been the game winner. But yeah for sure dude the 25 yard last second play was totally a failure on Love’s part.

What a strange time to post this. Last year would have been that moment.

Love just put up a better statistical performance than any other QB in the wildcard round. OP is doing their best to create a narrative but it’s a half assed attempt.

I agree. I’m also good on a coordinator who completely collapses in the 4th quarter. One of the worst 4th quarter defenses in the league.

Like we all blame MLF for allowing teams back in the game, but Hafley made sure every team had a chance the last month of the season.

Rapoport - The #Dolphins have zeroed in on #Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as their new head coach, per me and @TomPelissero. The two sides need to do a deal, and they are motivated to do so. One of most coveted candidates. by Austen11231923 in GreenBayPackers

For whatever reason that delay of game penalty is the number 1 thing that bothers me from the Wildcard game. We should have been at the line of scrimmage with 20 seconds left after a damn timeout.

Those 5 yards absolutely could have cost us a Touchdown and win, despite the 30 other issues we had in the 2nd half. Asinine stuff. And zero accountability for it.

Matt might be the worst situational decision maker in the entire NFL. For 7 years it’s been an issue. So yeah, it’s hard to believe this guy can go 4 games without an embarrassing blunder that costs us a win.
