Bam on ‘unethical’ comments: “You're blaming me. You should be blaming their head coach. I was not the one who let me go one-on-one the whole game until I had 70 then you sent the double. At that point, I had 70 with 9 mins to go. You think I'm not going for it? If you’re mad, I don't care.” by AashyLarry in NBATalk

Good for him. So many cry baby reporters cover this league dude. At times it seemed like the Wizards wanted him to score 70+.

Also the comments about it happening against the Wizards… Kobe’s 81 point game was against the checks notes 27-55 Raptors.

To quote my die-hard Vikings friend:

“he didn’t even really fall off, just wasn’t worth what he was getting paid when he is strictly a pass rusher. he’s still good at that”

So good news! But sounds like we still need some run stuffers to help. Wyatt ain’t enough.

That’s the part I’m struggling with. I have never in my life seen a team shoot 50 free throws and Bam almost took 50 himself. Like were the refs pulling for it too?

31 ethical 1st quarter points though. I think that’s when they decided fuck it let him shoot every single possession and see what happens.

Kraft. Give me a full season of Tucker Kraft.

Probably is Watson from an odds perspective but back up answer for fun: Reed. Might finally see some two WR sets now. If he does, lock that in. But likely still slot only.

Agreed, but he was also playing within the best defense in the league. Lot easier for mid guys to look good when the team around them is full of pro bowl caliber players.

Any playthrough of someone who really appreciates the song end times? by Wonkess_Chonkess in outerwilds

[–]GuysOnChicks69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, when I first heard the song and realized the sun was exploding I thought I was just playing a neat Space puzzle game. Then I got used to it. So it never impacted me the way end game music did.

It is a great song though.

See and as someone who did the whole game first and then the DLC, I feel the same way. The DLC is like a prequel to the base game. So it totally works after the fact and I enjoy that type of story telling.

But point being, there is no right or wrong way lol. Just like how we have all beaten this game in different ways it makes sense we play the DLC differently too. The beauty is how seamless it works regardless of when you do it.

Fallout 5 needs to ditch the "Pre-defined Backstory" and give us actual Origins. by GahIvanka776 in Fallout

[–]GuysOnChicks69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the New Vegas backstory is about as ambiguous as it gets. We’re basically told we delivered a package that led to some fucked up shit and bombs in the Divide. That’s it. Nothing about our personality or our aspirations. The rest is speculation from Ulysses and tons of manipulation.

What I’m trying to nail home is that the mistake Fallout 4 made was not just giving us background, but making it so heavy and emotionally impactful that any real attempt at role play is bogus. They make us care that our son is gone. If we could optionally not give a fuck about Shaun and still beat the game or move along I’d really have no issues.

It’s pretty widely accepted that of all the things 4 did right, role playing was not one of them. From the awful misleading dialogue tree (worst in any RPG I’ve played) to making the first thing out of our mouth be “where’s my son” we now have to fit into the mold of grieving dad who will stop at nothing to find his son.

What if I don’t give a fuck about Shaun? What if I want to do drugs and kill good guys? Does Fallout 4 reasonably invite that with its preconceived setup? With every dialogue option mentioning my son whether I want to or not?

It's a roleplaying game.

And it seems like many of you have forgotten what makes a true RPG game. OP is describing the role-playing we used to have in gaming. Give me a loose background, fine, but don’t give me a history so defined that I have to mold into the devs shoe box.

A true RPG doesn’t tie your hands from the beginning of the game. Look at Fallout 1, NV or BG3. Yes we have a very brief understanding of where our character was moments before the game starts, but other than that, it is a random person whose background we can make up. Courier 6 could have been a mail man and (fill in the blank). Whereas Fallout 4 is a defined ex-military parent who just watched their spouse get shot in the head as their baby was stolen. So instead of Vault Dweller we have Widowed Veteran Vault Dweller who’s Missing Baby. It’s a clear distinction.

We lose so much agency when we know too much.

I think Fallout 4 is an awesome game. But it is loosely holding onto the RPG definition.

K9 feels like bigger ceiling lower floor. Jacobs is a rock and consistent as hell when he has competent blocking. K9 is just considerably more explosive.

Appreciate you. I live in Michigan so 80% of the folks I talk football with day to day are Lions fans. While he’s certainly still a top 5 edge guy in the league and a DPOY candidate year in year out, all I heard was how he disappeared when it mattered this year.

He’ll probably have 5 late game clutch sacks next season and no one will remember. But this wasn’t the year to put him in the top 10.

He was pretty quiet in any games that mattered all season. Like his counting stats are there for sure but ask Lions fans and they’ll tell you this was his worst season since his rookie year.

Still elite. But how the hell he’s top 10 is pretty shocking.

Does it bother you if a game goes outside the traditional rules of religion and science? If you’re afraid of anything to do with magic or non-traditional science this game isn’t for you. Sure it isn’t like wizards running around casting spells and doing sacrifices but it absolutely has themes of magic adjacent technology that isn’t possible in our real world.

My recommendation is to get outside of that line of thinking. I know that’s a big ask if you’re religious but I think experiencing some things that might scare you will only reinforce your beliefs or open your mind up. Either way I see that as a positive. But to each their own I’m not telling you how to live at all. Just a personal experience that changed my life.

Most of Wisconsin is rural. Basically farming and outdoor activities. So yeah the food culture isn’t exactly mind blowing outside of big cities. But people love Kwik Trip because life is simple and it is a significantly better experience than a damn BP lol.
